So glad I bought all the accessories for the MetaQuest

My son wanted the MetaQuest VR thing for Christmas, he's 9 by the way, and I had no knowledge about VR games whatsoever. I only knew it was a device that you wear as if they were bulky glasses that looked like they would be heavy but I had no idea how this thing fit. So of course knowing that much about VR gaming I obviously knew that games apparently took on a life like illusion through these lenses. A type of gaming I wasn't familiar with or interested in myself. I had no clue what they cost and cringed when I learned how much I'd have to spend on a game that I assumed was like those arcade or theme park attractions that stay in one place but send you on a dollar coaster ride through a nauseating lens. So spending hundreds on it and all the accessories made for it, had me hesitating if this was the right gift for my son. He probably had no idea that motion sickness could be an effect from this kind of gaming. I worried he would get it, try it once and never play it again because it was heavy or uncomfortable, of make he feel sick etc. I couldn't make a confident decision fast enough so I just went ahead and bought the VR. And the way I see it, if there are specific optional accessories made on the side, then you have to buy those too. Personally speaking, I couldn't just buy the VR headset by itself and only that. It's gaming. These accessories aren't required to enjoy the gaming experience I know that, but they are an option if you want to enhance your gaming experience to the best it can get. To me, this accessories and the others made for this model, are necessary. I knew going into the purchase that it would in excess of a $100 dollars on top of the lenses. I recommend you buy the extras, but if you can't or don't want to buy all of them, (it's just 3 optional available), then absolutely at least buy this one. You literally are going to buy this pieces to replace the one that you bought with MetaQuest which seems ridiculous since you're removing the strap sold with the device and probably never using it again. But my feedback on the elite head strap is 5 stars, worth paying for, it upgrades the base strap. Upgrading hardware that will sit on your head and cover your upper face, is a no-brainer. Maximum comfort makes all the difference in the gaming experience. So, if you are wondering if this will be worth buyin, or if it will make much of a difference to justify the extra cost, I saw absolutely. This strap allowed the MetaQuest to properly fit my 9 year old head. The standard strap didn't provide a proper fit, the lenses sat more loosely on his head and you can imagine how uncomfortable that would have been when you're trying to play. With this elite strap, the comfort is as good as it gets because this strap adjusts the fit better. Buy it, you're probably going to be glad you did and not regret it at all.

Love my Meta Quest 3!

Oh my goodness! This thing is fun! I am a 59 year old woman who cannot melt and pour myself into an exercise routine. As a last ditch effort, I decided to try this thing. I bought the ‘Supernatural’ game for this unit and love it! I am out of shape, so when I do one single session it wears me out. But I enjoy it so much that I don’t dread the sessions. Hopefully with time using this system, I will be able to get back in shape. I am not very ‘techy’ but I had no problem learning how to use this thing.It really is easy to use and understand. My living space is very small but with the Supernatural game it doesn’t take much room. I love the feature of this devise where you can tap the side of the unit and immediately see your surroundings without having to take the headset off. Although this was a very pricey investment, it was worth it! Fun, easy to use, and effective for my purposes!

The best overprice strap out there

It is definitely a worthy upgrade as it is the only quality strap out there that is guaranteed to fit. No hard spots like the OG strap. A lot easier to adjust the tightness and get it comfortable on your face. Great if your having party play. Loses a start for price. Other quality straps out there are being sold for half this price when they get back in stock. Honestly Meta should have ditched the OG strap and shipped the elite strap with the Q3. Pure money grab on their part

Strap this ratchet on granny’s face to liven your holidays, but keep a phone handy

Well i had a quest 1 forever and the strap was so perfect, anyway i got the quest 3, and i knew there was all this stuff about straps straps from watching the news on quest 2, so i knew not to expect much from the strap included with the system. However, while it was less comfortable than my quest 1 strap, i was thinking hmm but they say for $70 more it can be more comfortable (probably even better than quest 1 strap!), so i get this elite strap, super easy install like 5 minutes, did it 30 minutes ago and then i got to adjusting it all different ways and trying to tell myself this is better than even the standard strap included with meta quest 3, i spent like 20 minutes in the dark perfecting how to position it but i just want to ask how is this more comfortable, its heavier seemingly no matter where i position it (eg base of skull, middle and upper) so im not sure im believing this hype about weight distribution etc, also you are click clack click clacking this dial on the back like you are on a slow roller coaster then you clack it one dial too much and its too tight, 1 dial less and its too loose, readjust too strap etc etc. and in the dark there clicking and clacking, i realize this is an actual ratchet on our heads, they’re no elastic play in the mechanism that i can detect so i think it sounds weird and feels weird and i also was thinking there in the clickity-clackity darkness how this could be dangerous for people, putting it on too tightly and its potential to cut off circulation on certain veins, and also just putting this thing improperly on certain people could be 1. Dangerous for them, and 2. More likely to get broken when your heathen cousins or whatever try to rip it off their heads. But i will try it a little while longer and revise my review up or down. Update: after using this a couple hours i decided i do like it. Important not to crank it to where you can feel it pressing. Once you get the hang of it, its comfortable. Seems to be very high quality also, but i would recommend you for sure make it clear to people you let use it to twist the dial counter clockwise before attempting to remove it. Otherwise i do believe they will damage it.
