I always like Merrell shoes and have several pairs of their hiking boots. This time, however, I feel the quality of these boots isn't up to their usual standards. I bought one pair first, and the left boot feels slightly narrower than the right boot. But overall, they're OK so I decided to buy another pair. The second pair is even worse. I normally do not write reviews, but these boots obviously have a defect that Merrell should address. I bought these boots July of 2022 and 5 months later like two other reviewers that I ignored; the rear stitching has fallen apart leaving a huge hole in the back of the boot. I do light building maintenance and thought these would be great for winter shoveling but will sadly never find out. These boots were not abused. I stand, bend and walk, mostly indoors. The soles don't even show any signs of wear. Safety toe boots are required for my job and payed for by my employer but only one pair a year. The replacements are coming out of my pocket. $160.00 Boots made for work and advertised as such should not disintegrate in 5 months. ... show more

After 4 months of not hard use at all the stiching came apart in the same place in the back of the boot. Defective design!! Wouldn't buy again! My first and last pair of merrils I will buy!

Las botas se dañaron en 2 meses de uso, sus costuras son muy malas. Una decepcion, lastima por que siempre me ha encantado el calzado merrell pero las costuras de estas botas es de pesima calidad.

I work in a cold storage facility so very limited wear is generated on my boots with normal life span of 2yrs. I love the fact that Merrell fits my foot so well out of the box and the insulation is top notch. I purchased the Strongfield leather 8" in August 2021 thinking the durability would be an upgrade but, unfortunately the rear stitching has failed after only 5 months. This is very upsetting as the Strongfield leather is priced as a premium boot. I felt with the exposure to my day to day tasks of mostly just standing would make these boots worse case last at least 1 year until my company renews the boot allowance of $50 to help off set the cost of a $200 pair of boots. It's just not feasible to baby these boots with stitches that are failing for another 6 months and look forward to getting another pair. These boots I cannot suggest and will further refrain from confidentiality suggesting Merrell to other people. ... show more
