    • Merrell's sizes are out of whack lately

I have worn Merrell shoes for years, and specifically this particular model going back to 2007. I LOVED my 2007 model, they were the best shoes I have ever worn. I tried to buy new ones several times and just didn't like the colors offered. Finally my old shoes got t the point I had to buy new ones which I did. The new ones were not the same. The squeaked and just didn't feel right. I threw them out. Finally this year ordered these again and as much as I like them (I ordered the charcoal) the sizing is just off which I found with trail running shoe by Merrell that I bought in the spring. I ordered this shoe in my normal size 8 and also 8.5, neither fit properly. The 8 is too short in the toe and the 8.5 is too long. How can that be? I sadly have to return these shoes. This shoe runs short - order 1/2 size larger. Also it is not as padded on the ball of your foot. A strange fit.

Unlike many shoes, the Siren Sport 3 was comfortable right out of the box and did not require breaking in. I have plantar fasciitis and normally need a special orthotic, but these shoes have a built-in arch support, so it was not needed. This is my fourth pair of Merrell Siren Sport lightweight trail shoes, and my first Siren Sport 3. In general, they hold up very well. I only replace them every three years or so when the heels wear down, since the inner soles really last. I've only worn this new pair a few times, but they have been comfortable from the beginning. I wear my Merrell's for daily walks around the neighborhood, but also do quite a bit of hiking on rugged, rocky Arizona trails, and like the support, stability and ventilation they provide. I go up half a size with these to accommodate heavier hiking socks, but find they fit equally well with lightweight crew socks. ... show more

these shoes are so comfortable I started wearing them to work and destroying them, so I had to buy another pair to have for non-work use. I love how they feel, and I love how they look. I should buy another pair before they go and stop making them (as what seems to happen with every favorite shoe I find). a con is the soles are slippery when wet. do not trust the grip on wet surfaces. I have the same negative issue with their water hikers, All Out Blaze Sieve Water Shoe (that I also love the comfort and look of). you would think a water hiker would be good for crossing streams, but you cannot trust the grip on wet rocks. which is a shame, because they are water hikers... you would think they would have good grip when wet... I thought they would was why I bought them originally, but I honestly have better awesome grip on wet rocks with a pair of $10 water shoes I bought at an outlet in North Conway one summer (drawback to those is they are not made for walking distances, just playing around. like good enough for Dianna's Bath (NH), but not for a longer hike, hence why I bought Merrell's water hikers. disappointing how slippery they are. now why can't a famous maker of hiking shoes use that kind of grippy material in their soles that the cheap no-name shoe used? still love the shoes though. just warning you, so you don't kill yourself wearing them thinking you can cross a stream safely in your waterproof shoes. bought my sister a pair and she loves them too. (but seriously, I cannot stress enough to be careful if it is raining and you are wearing these walking across certain surfaces... I slipped and almost fell wearing these walking across the handicap spot at work. these shoes on that painted surface in the rain. whoa. Merrell, if you are reading this, please take note that your shoes are awesome, comfort and style wise, but can you work on developing a grippier sole please. as it is I now only wear my waterproof shoes when it is dry for safety reasons. that is not right. ... show more

Really like these, however I switched to Oboz insoles for added comfort. Merrell insoles were stiff and uncomfortable.

These shoes rule. I am a 10.5 wide, and have a hard time finding my seize in most shoes. These shoes are a true wide width fit. They are very light and comfortable to wear. They are also very attractive.

These are my absolute favorite Merrells now. They fit perfectly, true to size. The fit is a little snug which I prefer. I’ve gone hiking in them and wear them to work (I’m outside a lot). They are holding up well so far
