I bought 5 pairs so far. I like hiking and I work quite a bit in the woods and my yard. I am often working on a slope and since I am a heavy guy, I put a lot of strain on the boots. I also step into puddles not to widen trails and create larger mud patches, and I fight invasive plants alongside creeks and often step into water. All that said the boots are holding up much better than any other brands that I owned. I always keep a new pair and an old pair around to have two pairs that are broken in (actually these boots don't need break in with my feet, so it's more testing, making sure the form hasn't changed since the last pair). The only weak spot are those compound lug soles. I like Vibram since it's indestructible but I see the benefit of combining a hard polymer with a softer polymer to create better grip on rocks. At some point the outside parts of the soles delaminate, come loose and not much later the profile is usually reduced enough to make the boots unsafe on rocks. I get about ~1 year of hard use out of the boot. ... show more

Good support, good leather, nice design with the nylon, thicker than expected, true to size. Better sole than most. Cannot speak to longevity yet. If waterproofing is a super big issue for you, if your jumping around in a river, or if you don’t know what snow boots are, maybe get some chest waders?     • Better than I thought
I am pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they are after wearing them in. I'm not a big fan, of water proof boots because you get wet feet because they don't breathe. These feel so comfortable when worn, I barely notice how wet they get from wearing them all day. I took them to Disneyland, and had no pain after a long day of hard walking! I bought these for my boyfriend and he was very happy to get them. Already owned a pair and said they were the best boots he's ever had. He does alot of hiking and said they were good with waterproofing and comfortable.

These are the best hiking boots that I have owned. They are comfortable to wear and do not need to be broken in. And another thing is they look sharp. I would buy these again but hope that they last a long time.
