I was a little worried that the brushed surface, sort of like flannel but not as thick, will make it harder to turn over while we’re asleep because it’s grabbing our pajama fabric. First off, I really like these sheets. Very soft smooth feel with very little wrinkling. Right out of the dryer they have hardly any wrinkles compared to most other percale sheets I own. Please note that these are described as a "brushed percale", so they have a softer texture than a typical crisp percale sheet. My mattress is about 14" deep and the fitted sheet fits well. The printed pattern is nice and crisp with no bleed of the gray into the white. Pillow cases also have a nice stitching and finish. Overall these, are really nice sheets and at a very good price. Now the plus for this merchant, Royal Hotel Bedding: Any merchant can ship out a product I've ordered online. That's the standard task and quite easy. What is more important to me is how they respond when you have a question or issue. When I received my order, I found a very small snag in one of the sheets. I think most people would not have even noticed. But I decided to reach out to Royal Hotel Bedding. In less than 24 hrs I received a very courteous reply apologizing and saying a new personally inspected replacement was on it's way. And 3 days latter I received a new replacement sheet. And by the way it was folded and packaged, I do believe someone took the time to inspect it before shipping. Online businesses depend on higher volumes to offer good prices. And often, after sales customer service gets little attention. But not in my case with Royal Hotel Bedding. So I rate this as a very nice set of sheets from a merchant with good customer service. ... show more

    • Nice feel, but a few negatives

This is probably my first set of all cotton percale sheets since I was a kid. Until I recently researched cotton sheets vs microfiber & sateen finish vs percale finish, I had no idea of the effect sheets had on comfort & warmth. I've had microfiber for many years, but I would sometimes wake up at night sweating. I recently tried cotton sateen finish & didn't like the feel, so I tried these percale finish sheets. POSITIVES: I like the crisp feel. The wrinkles are moderate if washed & dried per instructions. They are cool & comfortable unless you're looking for that slippery shiny feel. NEGATIVES: I bought this particular set because the top sheet was 2" wider than most. But the wide hem at the head of the sheet had missing stitching for a 6" stretch in the middle. The description says the bottom sheet will fit up to an 18" mattress, which is completely false. After washing in cold water, gentle cycle, the bottom sheet barely fits my 13" mattress. The head & foot will not tuck in at all & the sides only tuck in about 1". So there is no way this bottom sheet will fit a 5" taller mattress. The corners do fit ok, though the elastic band all around the bottom is very narrow (about 3/8") & not as strong as others I've tried. UPDATE: After 18 months of use, the fitted sheet has shrunk enough that the sides will no longer tuck in at all on my 13" mattress, so this sheet set will definitely not fit a 14"-18" mattress, as advertised. Also the top sheet has shrunk about 7" in length, so I can't draw the sheet up over my shoulders on a cold night. I emailed the supplier, Royal Bedding, about the shrinkage & they responded in less than 12 hours, on a weekend no less. They are replacing the sheets. The sheets may not have met my expectations, but their customer service certainly exceeded my expectations. ... show more

    • Beautiful, Scratchy at first but softens with multiple washes

I'll start with the fact that these sheets are beautiful. However, they are not soft but instead scratchy. They didn't feel soft out of the package, so I thought washing them would help...not at all. They almost feel worse. I am hoping after several more washes that they will soften up and have that wonderful feel that most cotton sheets have. I'll update my review later if they improve. Also, they are not for 18" as the package says 16" despite online saying 18. Thankfully, they did still fit my mattress and didn't shrink after washing. So now after several months of owning and washing, these sheets are softer and nice and crisp. I enjoy them a lot with the exception that they are not really that deep. They struggle to stay on properly with my mattress cover, so find ourselves constantly tugging on them. We figured out a fix with putting a deeper sheet that we don't like beneath it to reduce slippage. I'd buy again. But, give yourself a lot of patience. I think it took around 10 washes before they were actually bearable to use though the night and no longer scratchy. ... show more

    • Pretty but only really fits a 12 inch depth mattress

The product is lovely and upon receiving it I immediately washed it, it cold water, and then dried it in the dryer to put onto my bed. The package states it will cover a Cal King with a 16 inch depth. My mattress is a Cal King with a 12 inch depth mattress. It did just fit my mattress, with no extra room to spare. So if you are looking for it to fit a mattress that is deeper than 12 inches, this sheet set will not fit. I am happy with it though as it does fit mine, and it is very pretty. The reason I took away one star is that I was hoping for the extra room as it is hard for me to find Cal King sheet sets that truly fit my mattress, so I know one of the reasons this set was a contender was because it stated that it would fit a 16 inch depth. I just want future buyers, who have deeper mattresses to be aware of this. ... show more

    • Cute sheets but a little rough
The sheets are cute but are a little rough (not as soft as I thought they would be). Also, they fall in the middle of being heavy and light weight.

    • Nice But Not Sure Percale

These are fairly nice sheets but after washing I am not sure they are 100% percale. I bought percale for that nice crisp sheet like your grandmother had. These softened quite a bit after washing and lost that percale feel. I prefer the Eddie Bauer brand. They have a better feel and less expensive.
