I don't write many reviews but I want to for this bed. The reason is that when you buy furniture online, you don't always know what you're going to get. Especially, from companies you aren't familiar with. That said, I took a chance on this bed because it looked very similar to another bed I always liked but was way out of my price range. So, it arrived today and I put it together immediately. The box was a bit banged up but all of the pieces inside were in good condition still. It took about an hour alone to put it together. The only slightly difficult part was that I definitely needed a rubber mallet for the last piece to fit in correctly. Once together, it looked amazing. It looked just like the picture and exactly how I’d hoped. All the pieces seem well built and I have a hard time believing that they won’t hold up. However, that part is still to be determined conclusively. Also, it feels very stable, even the headboard. I hope this helps anyone who is on the fence about buying it. Although, I can’t predict your experience will match mine, I think might be worth the risk. ... show more

I had been looking to replace the bed frame in my bedroom for quite some time. The main issue with my previous bed frames was that they all relied on screws, nuts, and bolts to hold everything together. Over time, those connections would gradually loosen, leading to the familiar squeaking and creaking noises whenever I turned over at night. After experiencing this with multiple bed frames, I wanted something built differently. While researching options on Amazon, I learned about traditional Japanese-style joinery, which was completely new to me. I was fascinated by the idea of a bed frame that could be assembled without relying on a large number of screws or bolts. That's what initially attracted me to this bed. I also preferred its minimalist design since I didn't want a bulky frame that would make my bedroom feel more crowded. The bed arrived very well packaged in a sturdy box. It was delivered without any damage, and I was impressed by how carefully every component was protected inside. Honestly, the unboxing process took more effort than the actual assembly. I would recommend opening the box in a large area so you can organize all the pieces before getting started. The assembly instructions were excellent. Every step was clearly explained, making the process straightforward and stress-free. What impressed me most was that virtually no tools were required. The only exception was the headboard, which uses a few screws that can be tightened by hand without needing any tools. The main frame utilizes a Japanese-style locking and joining system that fits together incredibly securely. Once assembled, the pieces felt tightly connected with virtually no movement or wobble. Insanely good quality for the price. This thing is beautiful, and seemed easy to assemble. Not really sure, I watched while my fiancé put it together, but he had it done in less than 30 minutes. The solid wood construction for the affordable price sold me. She’s sturdy, she’s cute, we love her. Mattress does not slide around which is great. I wasn’t sure if we’d have issues with sliding since it doesn’t have a footboard, but all is well. Also, super sturdy like I mentioned. No squeaking, creaking, or wobbling. Perfect height as well. Sits comfortably low, though still offers enough clearance to fit your standard under the bed storage totes underneath. We would buy again for sure. ... show more

This arrived UPS. The box was a little beat up but the bed was packed well. We put it together in an hour with easy to follow instructions. The only tool needed was a rubber mallet. The manufacturer even included a small packet of various sundry extra screws (should you need them-we didn't) so no missing parts. The bed is beautiful warm tone, sturdy & durable, the height is 8 7/8" to the bottom of the frame, this gives it that platform look that is really popular right now. We are going from a queen to a king so the size is great because we discovered a queen bed was just too small for us. What a fantastic value for your money which is hard to find these days.     • Wonderful bed platform but headboard slightly warped

We've had this platform set up for a few months now in a guest bedroom and are very happy with it. It went together very easily, it does not squeak or rattle, seems very stable and rigid. The fit and finish are very good. The color looks just like in the description photos. The only complaint is the two parallel horizontal boards that form the headboard are not co-linear. One is slightly warped. It's not by much, maybe 1/4", but as a long time wood worker, it's annoying. The pillows pretty much hide it but it's there and I know it so I will probably fasten additional cleats on the backside to try and straighten it out. Most people are not likely to be overly concerned if they see the same thing, but they should be aware of the possibility. For our guest room, I'm OK with it. If this had been for our master bedroom, I would have returned it. Overall? I would recommend this to anyone that can overlook minor items like warped headboard slats or needs a very functional and attractive platform for a second bedroom. ... show more

This is a detailed review with some tips on how to put it together. Off the bat, 10/10, 5 stars, consider my mind blown. Listen we are all painfully aware that ordering furniture from Amazon is is sketchy at best and particle board hell at worst. THIS breaks the mold. Like most of you checking this bed out, you think the THUMA was gorgeous and then threw up in your mouth when you saw the price. $2,500 for a king with a headboard… is the wood endangered or something? The copycats are not much better, most over a $1000 and sold out while still giving off wayfair vibes. So when I stumbled on Merax I decided that if I’m gonna risk bitter disappointment, I was gonna do it with at least an easier return policy. The bed frame showed up earlier than quoted and the box was a little banged up. I was already bracing for the usual: glorified cardboard cosplaying as wood, cracked, chipped, and pathetic. I opened the box and was shocked. Well packaged, solid pieces , beautiful color, smooth. It looked expensive! It was simple to put together and the joinery requires just a little bit of patience for it all to slip together. There were only two small chips on the whole bed and they were barely noticeable or hidden from view. The quality of this bed frame is shockingly high. I’m laying on it right now, and did all my tests for when the Mrs. and I get some time away from the kiddo, no creaks, squeaks, or flexing. She is sturdy, stable, and sleek. The mattress is supported perfectly, I’m in love. This whole King bed frame cost LESS than just the THUMA headboard at around $370 dollars after tax. Just buy it and thank me later. And now for some construction tips: 1. The instructions are simple but the pictures matter, look closely at them. 2. The squishy black padding goes on TOP for the center supporting legs. 3. The sides of the bed are SLIGHTLY different at one end. You’ll see that one end has a subtle curve on the bottom, that’s the end that goes into the head board. The straight end is the foot of the bed. 4. When placing the feet of the frame the slickers that say “inside” are unreliable and probably in the wrong spot. Take a good look at the and you’ll see that one corner is noticeable rounded off compared to the others. That’s your outside corner and it should be installed as the pictures show. 5. The brace at the food of the bed take only hand pressure to slide into place. DO NOT use a mallet. If it’s took hard for your hands (gown man speaking) then back it out and adjust it a bit. 6. The head brace is the most difficult of the entire bed. GO SLOW. First of all you’ll need to slide it in from the side because there’s very little play, so it need to enter the hole dead on, like a key. 7. Once slid in, the joinery takes a little bit of finagling to get the pieces to seat together properly. Nothing needs to be FORCED, just back it out and adjust as many times as you have to. You can see in the pictures that everything is flush, so use your fingers to feel if parts are sticking out funny. That will help guide you and which parts of the bed need a nudge to help this piece finally slide in to place. Again, no mallet required BUT I did do taps with my palm since you have to go side to side so that it seats evenly. 8. After that it’s smooth sailing, stick the wood slats on their starter pegs and rolling out on the velco, you’re good to go. ... show more

Absolutely beautiful bed frame and quality material. Solid, stable & sturdy wood furniture. This was quite possibly the easiest piece of furniture I’ve ever put together. The only thing you need that’s doesn’t come in the box is a rubber mallet to tap the wood pieces together. I got the chocolate color and it has a wood grain look to it. I was afraid it would be a cheap solid paint look, but it looks like dark walnut stained wood. Mine was packaged well & had no flaws or damage when it arrived. ... show more

I’m very happy with this king-size bamboo platform bed frame. It is beautiful in person and has a lovely, warm brown finish. The product was VERY easy to assemble and has a solid, sturdy base. The tall headboard gives it a more substantial and elegant look than I expected, and it looks great in the bedroom. The platform design is also very nice because it gives the bed a clean, finished appearance without needing a traditional box spring.
