This unit isn’t hard to install, it just take time and a few extra items for proper installation like a dedicated 20amp circuit, a fuseable disconnect box, and a surge protection device. If you’re not comfortable with doing this yourself, you’ll need to get an electrician. What the video or directions don’t mention is when you remove the black caps on the copper tubes on the indoor unit, you will lose the precharged freon. Upon completion you will need to have the system charged.

Installation was not very difficult. The hardest part was fine adapter to put it under a vacuum in case anybody’s wondering it’s a 5/16 - 1/4”adapter you need. Even reading the manual, the remote is the hardest part of the whole thing.

It takes a little bit more than just installing it yourself. You need an electrician and also someone that knows about air conditioners because you need extra wiring.

If you're handy this'll be a breeze. Keep in mind you will probably invest another $100 in installation supplies. I read that someone mentioned when you remove the black caps from the evaporator side you will lose freon and that is not the case the evaporator is pressurized with nitrogen and and when you take off those caps and hear air escaping that is a good thing because that let's you know the evap coil is leak-free. The only issue I had with this install is the non-standard tubing sizes. I like to trim the excess tubing and re- flare the ends for a cleaner install and these don't fit a standard sae sized flaring tool. Fortunately I had some tubing left over from another mini-split install and I was able to use those. The pre-charged is in the condenser(outside unit) anyway so far I am happy with this unit for the money
