  • Great reflex sight, built like a tank, batteries not included! (or even necessary!)
Style: Triangle
I've only used this once, but so far I'm very impressed with it. The triangle reticle offers the quick pickup of a red dot for shorter distances, with the precision of a iron sight for longer distances. I zeroed it at 100 yards using the top tip of the triangle as the point of impact. In that regard, it reminds me of an old Mauser front sight, it works quite well. Shots can be quickly placed in a center-mass sized target at 50 yards or closer by using the whole triangle as a large red-dot. This sight is built like a brick schit-house, you would probably have to go to great lengths to damage it. It's nice to not have to worry about batteries since it runs on fiber-optic in the daylight and tritium in the dark. It's also nice not to have to turn it on or off, it's always "on". The one issue that often comes up when reading reviews about the M21 is reticle wash-out. If you're in a dark place (inside a dark room for instance) and you're aiming into a bright place (out the window of the dark room into the daylight) it can wash out, depending on how bright it is outside and how dark it is inside. This really isn't a problem for me, however. I shoot at an outdoor range that has a roof over the firing line. Shooting from the shade to the bright sunlight wasn't a problem at all, the reticle was bright and crisp. About the only bad things I can say about this sight are the slight possibility of reticle washout and it's weight, it is heavy at nearly a pound. But these aren't very big problems to me, I feel the positives far outweigh the negatives of this sight. This is a fantastic relfex sight for the AR platform, and would be right at home on many other tactical-type rifle platforms as well. ... show more

  • Excellent Sight
Style: Triangle
Haven't had a chance to try this unit out yet since I received it, but it seems to operate as well. The triangular reticule is much small than I thought and actually looks more like a dot. Nicely made, appears very sturdy since the body is mostly aluminum. Adapter works very well and makes taking this sight on and off very quick and easy. Will update as soon as possible. ** Aug 2013 ** OK, so I finally was able to test this sight our since I was able to acquire ammunition for my AR's (5.56 & 300 BLK). Keeping in mind that I am limited to an indoor range with a maximum 25 yard distance, I was very impressed with this sight. At that range, I was able to keep my shots clustered in a group of about 5" to 6" in diameter while rapid firing .... basically using a life size body shaped target, all rounds were kept dead center in the center of the torso where I had the triangle placed. My friend was impressed enough that he is thinking of buying on as well. Yes, there is a slight issue with washout when transitioning from a dimly lit to brightly lit area (for the target), but the triangle was still visible enough to allow me to keep 100% of my shots in the center mass of a human sized torso. ** Sept 2013 ** After working with this sight more on my various rifles & pistols, I have found it to be very accurate and has maintained zero perfectly when swapped between 5 different guns. Also it perfectly co-witnesses with my Troy Battle Sights. At nearly half the cost of a Trijicon SRS that I was considering, I plan to purchase several more for each of my rifles in the near future. My only gripes with this sight are: 1. No option to allow user to change reticle pattern or size 2. No option to change reticle color (reddish orange can be difficult to see on some surfaces) But that is all part of K.I.S.S. so have to make do with these limitations ... show more

  • Great concept & solid optic
Style: 4.3 Bullseye
Top notch reflex sight. Built like a tank. No switches, electronics, or batteries to malfunction. It can actually be cleaned off with water! Wider field of view than other similar sights. Zeros easily and stays zeroed. Nice QD release mount (big $ option on some). Bright clear reticle especially in med-high light levels (fiber optic/light guide driven). The tritium low light back-up also works well (auto/always on). Some complain about wash-out of the reticle when operating on the tritium light source, but that only occurs in rare situations when the shooter's in a dark area and the optic is pointed at a bright light source like a window or lamp. And once an object/target comes into view between the light source and the shooter, the reticle is again instantly visible so "no harm - no foul" in my book. ... show more
