We'll I Have had it on my wrist for three days now. I take it off at night. I have only wound it when i fist took it out of the box. I placed it on my time grapher and it is at most 10 second off a day. And how it will be sitting on my wrist it's off 2sec. I was drawn to this LOUIE JUELEN for the same reason most people get interested in automatics: the self-winding movement means no battery to replace, no back to crack open, just wear it and go. The 42mm case looks sharp, the white dial is clean and easy to read, and the luminous hands are a genuinely useful feature for low-light situations. The leather strap is comfortable for all-day wear, and the 30m water resistance makes it practical enough for everyday use without babying it. Where things get frustrating is with the sub-dials. The watch includes buttons on the side to adjust the day and month displays, and the crown handles the date, but the included instructions are genuinely difficult to follow. The documentation is vague, poorly translated, and provides almost no guidance on the crown's multi-position mechanics. Figuring out which crown position adjusts the date versus winding the movement took trial and error. And if the watch runs down and you need to reset everything from scratch, prepare to spend a good chunk of time puzzling through it. For a watch with this many complications, a clear, step-by-step guide is not a luxury; it is a necessity, and this one falls well short. The watch itself is a solid value for the price, and the movement keeps reasonable time once it is running. Self-winders have slowly been phased into my collection of watches lately, and being one of those guys who prefer heavy, chunky watches with heavy bands - I thought it was time for a change. Sometimes you want something lighter, simpler, easier to read, with almost zero maintenance. This is a very handsome watch that offers you all of that. the band is "thick enough" for the job as long as you don't crank on it like it owes you money. It wears wonderfully and is light weight so it doesn't get in the way - it's more like a very attentive butler always standing within an earshot to give you what you need before you even realized you're asking for something. I believe almost all self-winders are a steal... absolute bargain when you consider upkeep. No battery! No having to tear into it from time to time and mess with the backplate. Just wear, and go. Invest in a watch-winder case - it'll make your life that much easier. ... show more

This is a comfortable, straightforward automatic watch that does exactly what you’d expect for the price, no more and no less. The case and dial are on the larger side, which I like. The face is easy to read at a glance and doesn’t feel cramped. For reference, I’ve got an 8.25" wrist and it fits on the second-to-last hole, so there’s plenty of strap length for bigger wrists without looking awkward. The leather “crocodile” style band looks decent and, more importantly, is comfortable enough to wear all day without hot spots or stiffness. The automatic movement works well. It’s not a Seagull, an Orient, or anything watch-nerdy impressive, but that’s not the point here. It winds smoothly, keeps reasonable time, and will almost certainly outlast the person wearing it if treated halfway decently. You can hand-wind it to get things going, which is nice, and power reserve seems to be around 16 hours in real-world use. The complications are usable but not elegant. The day of the week is changed manually with a push button, which works fine once you know it’s there. The date adjustment is more of a hassle than it should be, especially if you let the watch run down. Nothing deal-breaking, just mildly annoying. This is not a luxury watch and it’s not pretending to be one. It won’t fool anyone who knows watches, but it also doesn’t look cheap or embarrassing. For the price, it’s a good little automatic with a readable face, decent comfort, and a reliable enough movement to justify owning it. If you want an affordable mechanical watch that looks respectable, wears comfortably, and scratches the automatic itch without drama, this one does the job. ... show more

This Louie Juelen chronograph watch was ordered for my husband. It's an attractive looking watch, and the large face makes it easy to read, plus the luminous hands help for glow in the dark reading. The other side of being quite large though is that it looks a bit too big on a narrow wrist. But since it's not a heavy watch, it's easy to wear it comfortably without any problems, and the leather watchband adjusts enough to fit a narrower wrist also. It does do its main function well and keeps accurate time without winding, but will only run for 24 to 48 hours if you're not wearing it, after which you need to reset the time and date. Practical that it's water resistant so you don't really need to remove it for hand washing. Seems quite sturdy and durable and the face is scratch resistant so I expect this will last a long time. Nothing too fancy, it's a nice simple timepiece for an affordable price. ... show more
