I got a portable bathtub recently because I live in an RV. My hot water tank is only 6 gallons, so I bought this to see if it would heat up my bathtub. It really does--and pretty fast. It's 2000 watts. Submerge it and it will heat 20 gallons of water in less than an hour, and to hot tub temps. JUST A WARNING--MAKE SURE THERE'S WATER IN THE TUB AND DON'T WALK AWAY FROM IT FOR LONG. My husband put our first one in the tub and walked away as the water was filling up the tub. He forgot that the second small drain hadn't been properly closed, so all the water leaked out as quickly as it went in. I walked into the bathroom about an hour later just in time to see everything bursting into flames. This isn't a toy. Don't leave it unattended and don't stick your hand in the water while the device is plugged in, either. You will get a nasty shock. Use safely and it's amazing. ... show more

The manufacturer recommends a time limit of no more than three hours.I would follow that if you leave it in longer I would suggest a number 12 gauge shorter extension cord that will absorb 20 amps .This is a purely resistive load and an 18 gauge cord is insufficient and the prong ends will get hot enough to burn you and possibly create a hazard such as a fire,please be careful.This is coming from a 40 year veteran in the electrical industry ... show more

This worked so well in my rv bathtub saved time and was relatively fast. The thermostat works well and fast quick response time too. I use a silicone bath mat to lay it on since the tub is plastic I would recommend this and will buy again if needed.

I bought this heater and was super excited to try it out because my hot water heater doesn’t quite fill my soaker tub. I got the product and the first problem I ran into was it required a 3 prong outlet within a couple feet of the tub. Welp, I certainly don’t have one as I’m guessing most people don’t. The only three pronged extension cord I had was on a power strip. I didn’t think of this for a couple months but when I did I thought, perfect this should do it. It did not. It tripped the surge protector after 5 minutes or less. Ok fine. Finally after I took down my Christmas lights I tried the heavy duty extension cord and had 1 absolutely perfect bath. Tonight with aching muscles, I climbed into my bath prepared for another relax soak. It didn’t turn on. At all. Nada. So I paid 30 bucks for 1 bath. Save your money. There has to be a better way! ... show more

Had to use this for a big bucket to shower when the hot water went out. It took a big but it was better than continuously using an electric teapot to heat up a huge bucket of cold water. It got delayed in the mail but the product itself was useful when we got it.

I bought this product as a complement of a foldable bathtub, does the job of warm the water but you must follow all the warnings of the product: 1. You should not place your hand into the water when the product is connected to the power supply. 2. If you need to use a power extension, you have to be sure to buy one that it's appropriate for this product, if you use a lower value the extension can take fire. 3. Use the digital thermometer to test the water temperature, not your hands. I like this product and is easy to use, I recommend it. ... show more
