UPDATE #1: So to start, on my first review I said this mattress was soft, and to the touch, it is. However, laying on it is when me and my husband noticed it was a bit firmer than our other topper. But we slept on it anyway. It wasn't so firm that it was hard, just more firm than our last one. Well, my husband woke up in the morning and said, "I have never slept better in my life, not one ache and my knees feel great" That never happens for him, he always wakes up in pain. So, I waited to update this for a few more nights. I asked him this morning (about 4 nights of sleeping on it) if he was still feeling good when he wakes up, he said "100%, I'm so glad you got this topper" So that's great for him. NOW FOR ME: It took a few nights for me to get used to the firmness compared to our other one. But... I have been suffering with night sweats for so many years, I can't tell you the last time I slept through the night because I wake up so hot or I have to use the bathroom. So I am happy to report that this topper actually does make a difference in body heat. I didn't have high hopes for a "cooling" topper, but I will say. Night 1, I didn't wake up at all from being hot (just to use the bathroom) Night 2, I woke up once hot, but not my normal sweating hot, just hot. Night 3 I didn't wake up hot at all. and last night, I did have one hot flash that caused sweating, but only one and that was the first one since sleeping on this. So all in all, this REALLY does help with overheating in the night. I will do one more update in a few more weeks. So I am still happy with this and my husband is THRILLED. He actually told me to get rid of our old one now. (I saved it in our spare room just in case this one wasn't great) ORIGINAL REVIEW: This is the start of this review, it will definitely be updated after I have slept on it for a few nights. This particular review is about the quality. First off, it was beautifully and carefully packaged. It comes with a nice little cutting tool to help open the plastic wrap without you having to use scissors or knife and cutting into the mattress. It opened up beautifully and was only smashed down in a few spots, (as you can see in my photos one of the corners is smashed down at first and within 20 minutes it was fully expanded ) it did not need more than a couple hours to get to its full-size. There were absolutely no weird smells whatsoever, it was in perfect shape. I pressed my hand into it and the handprint stays like memory foam does. So as far as the quality of this goes, it is excellent. The jury is still out on whether or not this will actually keep me cool. Since I wake up several times a night with The night sweats, I will definitely be updating this review. If you don’t need it for the cooling aspect and just want a comfortable memory foam mattress, I would say definitely get this one, it’s very soft and I can already tell it’s comfortable. Update to come in a few days!

First, I have to mention, I only left it to expand/ventilate for 24 hours not the intended 48 or 72 hours as instructed so I won't complain about the smell. I got this memory foam mattress topper thinking it would help or at least cool my bed a little in this summer heat. Despite being advertised as a "cooling gel infused" topper, I'd say it doesn't really help or provide any noticeable cooling effect. It's fairly breathable, but it does get hot when you stay in a single position for too long. Since I often move a lot during my sleep, the heat from staying in one position isn't really a problem for me, but it could be for others. Despite the lack of cooling, the memory foam does add some good pressure and pain relief. I do appreciate the 3-inch thickness of the foam; I'd say it's just good enough thickness for me. I don't think 2 inches, let alone 1 inch, would be enough to be worth getting a mattress topper. As I am somewhat large, 3 inches or higher is what I need for me to feel any real difference in comfort. To improve this product, I think there needs to be a 4-inch option, as 4 inches is probably king to provide the most comfort. Also, to address the cooling issue, a copper-infused option should be considered. From what I have heard, copper may provide better cooling than gel-infused foam. While this topper is comfortable, it fails to deliver on its primary cooling promise.

The density of this foam is about 0.4 pounds per square foot for the 3” topper in case you are trying to compare it other toppers. Another way to think about that is 1.6 pounds per cubic foot. In the mattress world and latex foam world terms like, extra firm, firm, regular, soft, extra soft … float around. This is synthetic memory foam but these kinds of terms are still useful. I’d call this soft. It takes very little force / weight to compress it. If you are heavy person, this is just going to flatten out under you and may not provide the contoured support you probably want. As with any topper, it’s going to work better or worse depending on the firmness of the mattress you are putting on. If you are trying to soften up a firm or ultra-firm base, this will work. On the other hand, stacking this on top of a base that is already too soft is probably not a good idea. How thick should you go ? Well, how much correction are you trying to apply to your current mattress. I don’t think 1 inch is enough to much difference, 2 inches is about the minimum and would be OK if you are making modest adjustments, 3 inches will give you the most effect.

I love this mattress topper. It’s thick and squishy. It’s not going to be a firm one so you will melt into it but in a good way. It does not flatten under my weight and I am 223 pounds. I love the color even though I know that doesn’t really matter. 🤣 The only thing that would make this better is if it had a removable cover over the foam to protect it and help it last longer. Other than that it’s perfect. I deal with a lot of pain and health problems so this helps a lot and helps the bed not put pressure on my joints. I am very happy with this and highly recommend it. It’s durable and nice quality. Of course with any foam that doesn’t have a protective cover it can crack and have small pieces break off if you have a dog that touches the foam while no sheets are on it. (Like when you are washing your bedding, etc) so just be careful. ❤️
