  • *updated 5/20/19*Sturdy platform bed for two fatties with modern/minimal taste.
Size: King Style: 9" Grey
Just finished putting together the metal platform bed. Before my mattress was on the ground. Husband and I couldn't agree on what type of frame we wanted but he made it clear he wanted something very sturdy and Metal. When first taking out of the box realize how sturdy it is. All materials were pretty heavy. Took around an hour to an hour-and-a-half to put together. Very easy instructions if you know how to count. Won't drive you crazy like how Ikea has their instructions. Has sticky tape in Middle slots so bed doesn't slide around but it does mean that you have to be precise with how you place the mattress on the frame. Height is perfect for a 5 ft 9 person with bad knees. Looks like enough room underneath to have minor storage even though to prevent with messing with how sturdy the frame is probably not going to use underneath the bed for storage. This will be the first night sleeping on the bed frame I will update review probably a couple of months down the line. But so far very satisfied. Would have done 5 stars but want to wait to see how it holds. *Update 5/20/19* so far love the frame. Its held up pretty well and even with some "accidental " sliding due to "bowchikabowow". I still say this frame is a 4 out of 5. Its been 4 months and the only thing that is maybe a bit disappointing is minor squeaking. I know if i remove the bed and tighten the bits it would probably be fine. But since i am lazy AF and it doesnt when im just moving around the bed to sleep, i dont see any major issues. ... show more

  • *Taps mic* “THIS ONE IS FOR THE FAT GIRLS.”
Size: Queen Style: 9" Grey
I have elected to sleep with a mattress on the floor for the majority of the past seven years after three ill-fated moments featuring a bed frame from IKEA (particle board snapped clear through when I sat on it), one of the so called “heavy-duty” fold out frames (endless creaking), and my last investment in 2015 of another “heavy-duty” frame where the slats cracked literally on the first night. I currently weigh ~300+ pounds, and most frames cannot handle the static weight of a singular body of this mass plus the weight of a mattress due to stress points and poor manufacturing. I’ve waited a couple of months to provide feedback on this piece... let me tell you, this frame is THE ONE. 1) There is no creaking or squeaking. 2) The foundation is supported 360-degrees with welding, so the weight distribution is phenomenal. 3) The middle bar and legs have not cracked, bent, or warped (likely due to the exterior construction), and at the 30-day mark when I removed the mattress to tighten up the bolts for preventive maintenance, they had hardly loosened at all, indicating very little frame motion impact with my body weight. I live with a disability that is physically kicking my a** due to balance and coordination issues, and even as my weight continues to go down, the ability to get in and out of bed easier and safer—vs. when the mattress was on the ground—is life changing. It’s so much nicer to leave rehabilitative physical therapy and crawl into a bed that is higher off the floor... and not have to worry about something snapping. Don’t hesitate. Assembly was a breeze... and it looks good, too. ... show more

  • Great Replacement for a King bed Frame: BUT FIRM
Size: King Style: 9" Black
Needed a replacement to an old frame and this looked good. Its strong points are: 1. It is superbly engineered. The design is expert and presents a very stable platform for most likely any bed. 2. It fits most King beds and the box springs fite perfectly. On the down side: 1. BEWARE when finishing. 4 of the final slats have two sided tape to inhibit box spring movement. You must tear off the top tape only! This fact should be made more expressly. We pulled off the tape and both came off. Then we realized there were two tapes. That is the only defective design element. 2. In a sense this is a rocket launch pad! That means you have a lot of assembly. There are some 36 bolts that need insertion and the numbered pieces help but it is time consuming and helps if two people do the work. 3. It is heavy. It is not your typical frame, it is a well manufactured and engineerd metal system. 4. No surprise but don't try pushing your vac under the bed. 5. Place it where you want it. Moving it about is no mean task. There are no wheels and the design ensures a stable platform, no movement. 6. It makes the bed VERY firm. The cross bars are the equal of a very firm full plywood over the bottom frame. If you like a less firm bed you may want to rethink this. Will try removing the slats and see what that does. 7. BUT, after two weeks the bed has become rock solid! Guess we will try to return it. If you like a very firm structure this is your best choice. BUT if you have become used to a less firm structure this may, in my opinion and my experience, disappoint. It is a shame because it seems so well built! 8. HOWEVER, it seems to me based upon my experience and in my opinion that if you seek to return it you are out of luck. Thus you should be certain that you REALLY want this sight unseen because it is yours. Ours unfortunately is being donated to a local charity. Hopefully someone may find it useful. Also it is very heavy, almost 90 pounds. ... show more

  • SOLID
Size: King Style: 9" Black
Solid frame with an easy setup. Was tired of breaking most of my box springs and platform beds (6'4" 280lbs) and so was my wife. This is an amazing sturdy frame that has not given any play whatsoever even during extra curricular activities.
