***UPDATE 8/24 - I spoke with amazon and a replacement topper was sent to me since the original one I received did not match the picture being used in the product description. The replacement that arrived DOES match the pictures. I am surprised the pattern used makes such a big difference, but the pictured version with the circle pattern is noticeably more comfortable and stable than the version I originally received (which is pictured in my review.) It is still extremely soft, which is good, but you don't get "encased" AS MUCH as the version I originally received. I like the sinking-in, but this version is honestly better. It's still super soft and you still sink in, but with the circle pattern version (the version in the product description's pictures) I am able to lie on my stomach or side without bending my back significantly or rolling back down into the body divot if I switch which side of my body I am resting on. This is noticeably more comfortable than the $200 Serta cooling memory foam topper I used to have, and even more comfortable than the original (incorrect) topper I received from amazon. I couldn't be happier with it, seriously. ----------ORIGINAL REVIEW----------- Overall, this is an excellent product, especially for the money. Some people are complaining about it being too soft, to which I would reply that it's a 4-inch memory foam topper and that should be expected. If you want something more firm, get a 1 or 2-inch version. For me, I wanted it really soft, and I sink into this topper very well. It expanded within 12 hours and there was not really any smell to it as others have also complained. The issue is that it is not as pictured. The patterns are all different, and I was looking forward to the version in the pictures. I have attached a picture of the version I got. I purchased the 4 inch Cooking Gel Infusion to add to our flimsy queen size mattress in our camper. It has made a huge difference! It arrived tightly rolled into plastic and inside a durable, plastic, drawstring bag (side note: I will be using this bag for laundry while camping. There are two holes in the bottom of the bag for air flow). Once we got it out of the bag (it did take two of us as it was a snug fit) and opened the plastic the topper was in, it immediately began to fluff up and take shape. I was pleasantly surprised there wasn't an odor to the topper. It's quite thick at 4 inches and quite dense, giving very nice support. We have slept in it for a few nights and are very pleased. I bought this mattress topper to use as an extra bed for kids and it works great. I tested it out while on vacation and laid it on top of a hard hotel mattress. I generally wake with aches and pains but didn't. It's thick enough to provide comfort whether on a bed or on the floor. Our littles now sleep on it whenever they stay and they give it two thumbs up. They even fight to decide which of the three get it. My only suggestion is to get a mattress cover for it if you use it in any way other than on a bed otherwise the tossing and turning on it can cause bits of foam to come off. It fluffed up the whole 4 inches right from opening the package. I still waited and left it sit for about 48 hours but there was no difference. I feel like the longer packages are vacuumed sealed then the longer they will take to fluff up. It would seem as if my was freshly packaged to order by the way it instantly fluffed. Great sleep with it. I am glad i went with this one. Very comfortable and it makes me excited to go to bed now because i know i will fall asleep and get a good sleep these days! This is a vast improvement. We purchased what we thought was this with the beginner kit from college. But, they accidently sent a 1". So, this is an amazing improvement this year. Well worth it!

This topper has made a really bad bed, great. Best of all, I cannot tell when my husband gets up and down during the night. I would highly recommend this to anyone with a sore back or hip. My pain has been relieved when using this topper.

We bought this to replace the 4 inch memory foam topper we had been using for several years. It’s extremely comfortable to lay on my only complaint is it needs to be thicker. We obviously knew it was an inch thinner but we didn’t think it would be much of a difference. After a few nights of not the greatest sleep we opted to use both and it was definitely an overall improvement. Definitely wouldn’t by one again unless it was thicker. ... show more
