Recently moved into a studio apartment so I have to make a compromise between living area and sleeping area. I chose to go with a futon but those are not very comfortable when it comes to nightly sleeping. This mat was the perfect solution. Every night it easily rolls over my futon when it's in the flat sleep position. In the morning I can simply roll it back up and tuck it back into one of my closets. It doesn't take up much space whatsoever and actually comes with a little storage bag if you don't use it much. The mat is very comfortable for me and I have bad back problems. Another huge plus is that the foam seems to be pretty decent quality as it will most stay flat too long after getting up. I have always had a foam pad over my mattresses for 15 years now and this one is by far the best. I was first putting an older foam mat under this one but it wasn't even necessary as this 3 1/2 inch mat is plenty soft already. Plan to keep this for a long time. ... show more

I wish I could have taken a picture but my sister is already sleeping on it! The packaging was very solid and the pad was vacuum packed in plastic and then in a recycled fabric bag. It was very easy for two women with arthritis to handle, unpack, and lift onto the bed. It is for my sister who has severe osteoarthritis in both hips and is having increasing pain this winter. It is AMAZING! she couldn't wait for the 48-72 hours period, please note that the instructions DO tell you to wait, but the moment she made her bed up and laid down she released a HUGE sigh of relief and hasn't gotten back up yet! She is VERY happy with the 3 inch depth, I am happy we went up in inches. It was stuck together out of the vacuum pack but with the material I am not surprised. It peeled apart easily and fluffed after. Neither my sister nor I noticed any kind of smell that usually comes with these packed products so I can't speak on that. It has no smell and the texture is so much better than those old fashioned egg crates. We will be ordering one for me next week for my knees! Thank-you! ... show more

I didn't give this topper the highest rating. The topper is comfortable to sleep on, but with my osteoarthritis and permanently damaged sciatic nerve, I'm still awake within 6 hours with pain shooting up my leg. I also wake up hot, like being on a "Temperpedic" mattress. It is a good topper, especially if you have a hard bed and need some softness in your life, so it still gets high marks. ... show more

I put it on the bed to air out, it was at the full 3" in about 2 hours so I made the bed & laid down for a second to see how it felt. Several hours later I awoke from the best nap I've had in ages. I got this for my guest bedroom/office futon. I sometimes can’t sleep in my bed so I go lay in the guest bed to sleep. Well, after two nights I was waking up with shoulder, hip, and rib soreness. Now, I have never had anyone complain about my futon but I couldn’t believe my friends and family have slept for days, sometimes weeks on that. So I ordered a pad. And I slept on it to make sure and honestly it was great.
