  • Absolutely fantastic set
The media could not be loaded. This set is absolutely damn near flawless the o ly reason i have to gibe it 4 stars is the waste of plastic with the size of the bags they use for deviding the lego set

  • Took 2 adults 10 hours to put together
I’m a big retro video game fan which of course includes Pokémon so when I saw this set I was super excited to build it. I know Mega is probably the closest competitor to Lego but this is the first time I’ve ever done one of their sets. It took 2 adults 10 hours to put this together and honestly we still did something wrong. I think the part that took the longest was sorting through the pieces to find what you needed. It was also kind of hard to split up the tasks because everything went on to one base. I used the book and my friend used her phone to read the instructions which helped a little. I love that the book is really large and has detailed photos including little hints and tips like “spin the model”, “make two of these”, “make sure you have the right part”. Even with all of those hints we still accidentally put the a piece in the wrong spot - grey rod - so when we got way further into the instructions we realized something wasn’t right because the other rod was too long to fit into the spot. It was the one piece you probably didn’t want to mess up because it had the rubber band around it. Let’s just say that probably took an hour in itself to disassemble and fix. Once we got it fully together we turned the crank to watch it move, and I still something is out of place because there is one section that doesn’t move and it knocks one of the back pieces off when you turn it. I’m too frustrated to take it all back apart so I’ll live with it and it doesn’t affect anything as a display piece for me. We still had a ton of fun making it as this was my first ever “adult” building set like this. I think the pieces mostly went together well and the final product is very heavy. I think my fingers are going to hurt for a few days from snapping so many pieces together. I look forward to them doing more Pokémon and I love how much work they put in to creating this and then adding the mechanics on top of that. Very pricy set but most are these days. If you split it up into days instead of doing it all at once it will be worth the money and then you’ll have a really nice display piece as well. ... show more

  • Long build, but looks cool!
I love a good building block set! There is nothing like the zen I go into when I take 30 min to an hour to make some progress on a build. My oldest is really into Pokémon meaning I have become into Pokémon as well over the last few years. So I thought this Mega Pokémon Gyarados Morion set would be a fun one. It’s definitely a time consuming build, that’s for sure. I spent weeks on this to finally get it done. The instructions were easy to follow, really finding the pieces that you need is the most time consuming part for me. Once built this is definitely a cool set! I love the motion aspect, and my kids think it’s super cool. I will say that the lever you turn is pretty tiny and it doesn’t feel very sturdy, so I do worry about the longevity of it. Also worth monitoring is the price is really hard to swallow when it full price, though it is currently on sale for $160 with a $40 coupon making it $120. Personally I think this os much more in line with its worth. Overall though fun build! ... show more

  • Incredbly large, detailed, and high-quality.
OK. I'm going to lead with one of my thoughts before I write the usual factual information, because ... this one surprised me. I've had occasional sets here and there by this brand over the years, usually either gifted to me or because a certain kiddo wanted something by them. In that time, I got used to rather 'meh' quality from them, especially compared to the biggest brands in the NA market. This set has very much changed my quality perception - it is easily comparable to the best brands on the market. Now then : Onto the facts. Packaging : The set comes in an appropriately massive box with excellent artwork. The box opens in an odd manner, but is nothing too ridiculous. The set comes in 21 numbered bags. Instructions : The instruction manual is truly massive, being printed on 11x13 paper. All 744 steps are well printed and very clear. Stickers : NONE. Everything that is decorated is printed. Parts quality : See the start. Set Design : borderline perfection. Overall thoughts : It's massive. It's heavy. The motion system works well. The decorations are smart. The printed pieces are clear and sharp. This thing is just perfection. ... show more

  • WHOA!
Got this for my 12 yo. He loves it and has been playing with it for over a month now since purchased it. Here are the good, the bad, and the verdict. THE GOOD - Value for the money. With this type of Lego, if I were to buy it from Lego, it would be twice or three times the price :)) - Sturdy. 12 yr old plays with it often and so far; nothing pops out - Came with no missing pieces - Beautiful once done building. Kid said this is like a life-size figure :)) - Pieces snapped together easily when building from what my 12 yo said - Has the feel and look of the "real Lego" if you want to use that as a standard of comparison - The mechanics on this piece are very well built and put together and runs very smooth for the tail to wag THE BAD - Nothing after a month of playing (from my 12 YO) :)) THE VERDICT: Will re-purchase as gifts for other kids ... show more

  • Great kit!
This is a fantastic kit for a great price compared to others. This is NOT a quick build, it takes time and patience. There are lots of steps, but they are easy enough to follow. This is not a beginner building kit, someone with experience will enjoy the challenge, awesome set for a team project. No stickers to mess with. The pieces seem sturdy, the movement in this is fun! ... show more
