I was installing a new motherboard into it's case and I already had the mini speaker attached and I was doing online (On the phone) Diagnostics with the tech Department at Asrock for the Livemixer Motherboard and As I was going through the steps with him He could hear the beeps coming from the speaker and told me to wrap it up. That he "heard the tone" that the Dram slots were not working properly and told me to ship the Motherboard to them for Repairs! I'm tone deaf I didn't hear a thing! These give you a reassuring beep when your PC achieves post. Also useful for error codes, of course. One of these stopped beeping, I found that one of the leads had snapped off. Could be my fault, but threat them as delicate. (It's a good thing that they are sold in pairs.) If you have ever had difficulty troubleshooting PC problems, this is the place to start. ... show more

These items are small but provide enough volume to easily hear "beep codes". I have built with 3 different brands of motherboards and these work in each of them. They don't sound pretty like a speaker would, but for this function there is nothing more needed than a sound.

Edit: replacement came from amazon exchange. It came broken too. The wire they use to are garbage and the solder is barely there. Pure waste of money at this point if you have a soldering kit to resolder this piece of junk I had to order from Amazon and this listing was cheap and the rating were decent so I ordered it and the item came and what do you know I can’t use it. They’re both broken if I wanted to solder the darn thing I would have salvage broken parts from a recycling place. The solder is the worse I’ve ever seen a highschool freshmen could have done better… ... show more

I ordered a two pack in case one was a dud, but both worked. It's certainly loud enough to hear and its volume is slightly annoying to me at home, but that could be a plus if you repair computers in a noisy workspace.
