The media could not be loaded. I really wanted to love this paintbrush set, but unfortunately the quality of the 10 brushes is not that great. The handles are said to be wood, but they feel and look like plastic to me. The bristles shed, and some of the tips are fluffy just after dipping the brush in water. I like the variety of brush sizes and shapes, but unfortunately the value is not there.

This set is overall a pretty good set. You get a nice variety of sizes of both flats and rounds. The handles feel good in the hand. Not as long as I like, but good for the price. So far, the brushes have held together well and held their shapes. The bristles have the right amount of stiffness and flexibility.

This is a good entry-level variety of oil painting brushes if you are looking for an economically priced set with a wide array of relatively narrow brushes. It is a good variety with everything from #1 to fan brushes. The bristles are relatively coarse so I found them better for abstract paintings or scenes that call for more of a rough texture. Of note I found they cleaned better in Gamsol than many other oil brushes. Perhaps that is the coarseness of the bristles that do not absorb as much paint. For this price I am satisfied and happy to add to my collection to oil painting brushes.

Brushes are very poor quality. Ive been impressed with every other meeden product I've ever purchased but these are a waste of money. They are stiff, but it's almost like the bristles are glued together. I tried rinsing with Murphys oil soap with no luck. In just making four swatches, the bristles fall out and have frayed and bent. Save your money.

The stiff bristles on these brushes keep make them great for applying texture in oil pastel paintings. The fan brush also works well for pulling down paint in watercolor, my favorite way to depict rain. If you are a watercolorist, these brushes will feel very different from your usual soft brushes, but there are some nice effects to be made with them.

I do a lot of detail painting and these brushes are great for that purpose. Once you dip the brushes into your paint, the paint stays in the brush. They never drip and when you start to paint your object I really like that it leaves a nice clean line and doesn't drag the paint. Yes, you'll have to go over the same area, but some times one stroke can be enough. They clean up well too and don't shed at all.

The handles are suppose to be wood but they feel more like a beechwood or something with a varnish coating on it that makes it feel almost synthetic to the touch. They do have a good weight to them and are very comfortable in the hand. The bristles seem fine for what we've used them for. My wife prefers oils whereas I'm a watercolor and acrylic fan so she's been a fan of these and how they feel. The bristles did get soft fairly quick but nothing that bothers her use wise. There was a few loose bristles here and there but not a crazy amount.
