Out of all the chairs like this , this one is the best I ever used over my 20 years in and out of my wheelchair .. The structure is the most sturdy & solid I have had in the past . I love the reliability of folding and opening of this chair .. The only problem small but inconvenient the plastic buckle for the seat belt broke off while trying to release it to open while wearing it . The other thing is the is no lock or anything to keep it closed while placing it in the car or standing it up in the house with or without the bag it does open slightly , the most sorry part is the bag does not come with wheels so you must open the chair fully to have someone put it in the trunk of the car then bag it . You can not wheel the chair closed or the arms scrap the back wheels . .You must bag it for airplanes which is great because the chair comes with a bag but again no wheels so it must be carried .. All & all the wheelchair in itself is a very good wheelchair. I would recommend this chair to everyone ,the wheelchair is a solid find .. Yes a bag with wheels would be much more helpful .. ... show more

Really like the weight, especially of the swing away foot supports. Would have wished there was some kind of attachment that would keep them out of the way when swung out. Makes for a very compact package easy to manage. Will fit easily in any vehicle trunk or back seat and any closet space. Really appreciate the handbrakes avoiding bending down to set or release them. Also like the removable pads for the back and seat, which are washable and attach with Velcro. Wish there was an additional seat pad offered, even at an additional or optional cost because it is needed for longer stints. Much more comfortable with them than without ,but something additional will definitely help. Also like the larger wheels in the back and wish the foot pegs where just a little longer to allow better leverage when overcoming obstacles. The bag is a nice touch but not used at all, could be optional or, in place of an additional, thicker, better seat pad. The folding backrest helps make it a compact package. The restaurant type arms make it easy to get close to any table or desk. It is almost perfect, except for the minor observagtions made. Maybe the manufacturer/seller will read this, make the improvement/changes and benefit future buyers. We're very happy with the purchase and the price is very competitive vs. other offerings that don't include all these benefits. It is not a bare-bones, cheap transport wheelchair but, then again, that was not what we were looking for. Hope this helps! ... show more

While the padded armrests and polyester seat cushions may show signs of wear over time, they still serve their purpose. This travel wheelchair is exactly what I needed to get my 180lb son to his doctor appointments after his leg amputation. I can easily fold it up and lift it to put in the trunk without hurting my shoulder or back. The only things I wish were better is how far the arms lift out of the way for transferring from the chair to the car seat. Also, the leg rests are so short! First to help you make a decision as to which type chair you may need for a loved one or yourself consider that a Wheelchair and a Transport Chair are both designed to help increase mobility and convenience for the disabled and elderly. Most are familiar with the standard Wheelchair, they are self-propelling, with hand rims on rear wheels that allows the user to push themselves forward whereas the Transport Chair has smaller rear wheels that requires the assistance of another person to push the chair from behind and it also has brakes on the handles located on the back of the chair so the person pushing the chair can apply the brakes more easily to navigate steep slopes and a wider variety of outdoor terrains.. The Wheelchair is made much heavier due to the material that it's fabricated from and is made for prolonged use where the Transport Chair such as this Medwarm Chair is Ultralight weight with its' aluminum frame, at only 22 lbs., the flip-up armrests can also be folded up on either side to enable an easier entrance or exit from the seat and their chair is made to be folded up to a very compact size and stored in its' provided storage bag which makes it easy to place in an automobile trunk or in the back of an SUV while traveling. Although a Wheelchair can provide the user with more comfort for long-term use and provide the help they need to see them through their daily routine but if you require help getting in and out of a car or if your home has narrow hallways and doorways then you may want to consider this Medwarm Transport Chair which has a seat width of only 17.7 inches and with a frame width of approximately 23 inches plus its' extreme flexibility to carry due to its' ultra lightweight... I was amazed at how easy this chair was to assemble and I appreciated the apparent quality of its' construction since after it was fully assembled my weight being just under 200 lbs. convinced me that this was a very sturdy chair but I wasn't impressed with the included User Manual due to the poor black and white picture quality portraying the different assembly steps but don't let that sway you from giving this Medwarm Transport Chair a try, besides the 30 Day Free Returns offered by Amazon, Medwarm is offering a one-year after-sales warranty to guarantee your happiness and satisfaction. ... show more
