Wish I’d had this product before I had my hip replaced. My recovery went smoothly other than difficulty getting in and out of my tall bed. Turned out to be quite sturdy & helpful to me after surgery. I was skeptical ~ but it is placed in my bed by my PT / OT therapist. It is placed high up by my pillows-the head of the bed. EZ to reach and helps me pull up to sitting position much easier after surgery. GOOD quality. It is very long so it gets placed waaay inside between your box spring & your top mattress. STURDY.     • An inexpensive aid for someone with mobility problems
I have older family members who have difficulty getting out of bed. Once they're on their feet they're OK, but the transition from laying down to sitting to standing is difficult. This grab bar couldn't be more simple. The horizontal piece installs between the mattress and box spring which traps it in place. Adjust the leg height to make sure it's level and you're done. Overall it's fairly secure. I expected it to move around but it hasn't (yet). The rubber feet don't slip (or at least they haven't yet). I wouldn't trust my entire bodyweight on it but it works fine for providing a little assistance and a steadying grip. This isn't as secure as a really solid bed rail or hospital bed, but it isn't meant to be. It's a simple, inexpensive aid that you can get delivered in a couple of days. It's designed to be an intermediate or temporary step before resorting to something like a hospital bed. It's not ideal for someone who has significant mobility issues, but for someone who just has a little difficulty getting out of bed, it works well. ... show more

We needed to add something to help my mother in law get off the couch. Because this both goes beneath the cushions and has feet, it works where others will not. It works so well we bought another one for her bed.

    • Game Changer after hip replacement?
Of all the tools offered to assist me after complete hip replacement, this one was most helpful. Once put together, we slipped it between the mattress and box spring. Very sturdy, helped lift myself up, and roll over. Highly recommend.
