This is an exact replacement (same brand and model) for the ankle brace my foot doctor provided. It is easy to put on, and stays in place providing good ankle support. The "speed lacer" feature makes tightening it up very easy and quick. I ordered this out of pocket, my health plan paid for the one at the doctors office but it was a lace up and seemed to take forever to put on and take off especially with PT twice a week. It is not as form fitting as the lace up but it does the job. The quick lace leaves some space in my ankle area and heel that I don't care for but tolerate due to the quick lace effect. I have a thin foot but not narrow in shoes, size 10 women. I suppose I could have gone down to the next size but was thrilled to be able to quickly put on the ankle stabilizer brace so I kept it. Highly recommend this quick lace but you might want to size down to get a snug git. Caution I had to order wide athletic shoes to fit the AKO and sock into my shoes after ankle ORIF. I am a retired RN 50 years and this is my first open surgery and was unaware of how much your ankle swells and stays swollen for so long. This brace helped me go to PT and quickly take off and complete PT and take it off to ice my ankle frequently. ... show more

It works, but it's extremely clunky. There's no way to wear the brace and then put a shoe on. Using this to recovery from ORIF surgery for fibula fracture and transitioning our of the cam boot. It does keep the ankle stable. Sizing may be slightly small especially for the top wrap around the ankle. I got medium and it barely attaches to the velcro unless I pull it extremely tight.
