The box was damaged, it was packed poorly. I took pics, but ultimately the damage was so unnoticeable once assembled I figured it was the price of doing business with an under $100 bed frame. We are incredibly impressed at the sturdiness of this bed! I can't believe I paid only $200 (after shipping). We are usually die-hard IKEA fans. The assembly is comparative to one of their products. There are a LOT of pieces. It took my husband about 2 hours to put this bed together (with the help of two toddlers). We used box springs for now, but may remove them because it's so tall. With the box spring, I cannot lean on the headboard to read in bed. The headboard is too short for that. It might be possible without the box spring. ... show more

I like this frame very much. It's sturdy and as pretty as the pictures. I dropped one star because the instructions are only pictures and some of the numbered (with stickers) parts were mislabeled, particularly the 6s and 9s. Some had no stickers at all. The very small Allen wrenches would not have been my first choice either. Overall, good value for the price though! ... show more
