We're pleasantly surprised by these folding chairs. Folded, they do take a bit more space than the typical folding chair, but their looks, comfort, and sturdiness more than make up for this. They are a little smaller than our regular dining chairs and do not really match our existing set, but they comfortably fit a typical adult. They do not feel wobbly or unstable at all. Amazingly, someone unknowing is unlikely to identify them as folding chairs; "extra" chairs, sure, but not as the folding variety. They are sturdy - they take a modicum of deliberate force to open and are not light or cheap feeling. These are actual wooden chairs with a clever hinge mechanism that allows them to fold. We've had these chairs for over 6 months so I thought I'd review them. We RV. We like our travel trailer, but found the rear dinette to be kind of impractical: uncomfortable cushions, takes up more room than the 2 of us need, and hard to find a good angle for watching TV. So we took it out, added recliners on one side of the rear area, and re-installed the dinette table over against the opposite wall (did I mention that my husband is handy as a pocket on a shirt?) Then we just needed free standing chairs that would collapse and hopefully be comfortable. These babies fit the bill! We can sit at our table to eat, play games or work puzzles, and move to the recliners for TV and general lounging. And they fold up nearly flat for travelling so no worries there. They are every bit as comfortable as any regular dining room chairs we've ever had (and better than some). They are sturdy and well made, easy to fold up, and look great. I took one star off because one chair is pretty stiff to unfold, but I would definitely buy them again. ... show more

This chair looks great, is comfortable to sit in, and is very sturdy and well-made. But it’s damned hard to open. I struggle with it every time. You can’t open it rightside up, you must turn it upside down. Even then, if you don’t get it right, it just won’t budge. Then, when you get it right, it opens fine. ... show more

I downsized from my large home to a small apartment and had to sell most of my furniture for smaller scale items. I purchased a round table with folding leaves to fit my tiny dining area and bought two of these chairs I could store in the closet until needed. Loved them. Good quality. I had compliments on them and several friends who also ordered them. 5 years later I upsized to a townhome and use the set as a breakfast table in my kitchen. Decide to order two more for extra chairs for company. The seat pads were now a different color so didn’t match the originals. There was a price increase as well (to be expected). I needed a couple extra folding chairs but wanted something that wouldn't look cheap in photos. These actually look great – so much so that I'd consider leaving them in my dining room as side chairs. I plan to use fabric and a staple gun to cover the seat so they aren't black plastic, and once that's done they will look like legit chairs – but that I can easily fold up and stick in a closet.
