I had an old merc fuel pump with a rusty spring and crumbling filter (the old pumice style). Bolted up, came with extra gaskets, reused old fittings and put into service. Boat started up and fan good, no leaks, no problems. This replacement has a pleated paper fuel filter.

    • Gradually pumps less and less fuel once it begins to fail
You'd be wise to buy a spare for the water as you'll likely need it. Failed after 5-10 hours to pump sufficient fuel to maintain a decent cruising speed. It stumbled at high speed at first and gradually reduces top speed

    • Works well on mercruiser 3.0L
Got it in, and swapped the hose barb and compression fitting to the new one. I put a little bit of gas into the pump to prime it. Placed one of the 4 gaskets before and after the spacer, bolted it on. re-attached fuel lines and fired up the boat and it worked great. Engine had a slight noticeably higher RPM. Wondering if my old pump was putting out a bit less PSI than it was supposed to! Never checked the PSI because it did run fine. So far, this one is performing well. ... show more

Seems to work fine on my 2006 volvo penta 3.0 glp-d. However, I didn't use the gaskets that came with it. I ordered the OEM thicker gasket from Volvo.
