I make my share of beef jerky and also enjoy my bowls of Vietnamese pho...which of course has to have thin sliced beef (shabu shabu) in the broth. My beef jerky meat slicing skill isn't anything to brag about, slices not too consistent, and I 'normally' buy the shabu shabu for my pho at the local Asian market, but it's pricey. So I decided to buy a meat slicer to solve both problems and wasn't about to buy a ginormous costly slicer....I don't have room to store a big slicer and can't justify spending $350+ for a slicer I use rarely. After checking out the slicers offered on Amazon and reading the reviews, I chose the Anescra. After a very short learning curve, I was getting sliced meat the way I like it. It's a cinch to disassemble and clean, and easily stores in the back of my broom closet. I see where people compare it to the much more expensive slicers, but that's not really fair. People that understand 'value' and 'bang for your buck' get it. I've sliced many pounds of different kinds of meat so far and the Anescra comes through every time. One reason for picking this model is the choice of two blades, I'm learning which blade works best for what I'm slicing. 200W is 'adequate' power for what I'm slicing...I'm thinking the 150W models would bog down. It is a bit noisy, not sure how it compares to other slicers, but way less annoying than a blender or food processor, and kitchens are supposed to be noisy haha. UPDATE: I had a technical question...sent an email, and the response came quickly. I'm surprised by how quick questions are answered and the overall great support from the company...I wish other companies would be half as responsive. Thank you Anescra.....

Each week I make sourdough, and whole wheat bread. This makes all the slices in the loaf uniform. When packing lunches it is so convenient to have the bread all sliced and ready to go.

I looked at and read reviews for dozens of this type of slicer prior to purchasing this one. I chose this one because of reviews and the apparent strength/ sturdy construction. It is important to keep in mind that this is not meant to be used in a business such as restaurants or a deli etc. It is definitely designed for home use. Overall this slicer preforms well despite some obvious design flaws. I have tested the slicer with summer sausage, deli meats and various types of cheese. I found that the biggest annoyance is the space between the feed table and the back of the machine. This excessive gap (about 3/8”) makes it impossible to slice all of the food being sliced, leaving you with an oddly cut or too thick of a slice at the end. The next flaw is the food pusher itself. The handle, so to speak, that’s used to push the food towards the back while slicing is plastic and too flexible. It does not hold well on the far end towards the blade. This would work much better if the handle on the pusher was more centered to give more even distribution of the pressure applied to the food being sliced, or perhaps if it were made out of metal like most of the machine. I found the blade to be very sharp as it should be and no damage or issues with the teeth. Unfortunately, there is another design flaw here. The blade is very slightly warped which if much worse, would not allow for even slicing. Next is the suction cups that hold it down for safe slicing. These suction cups are very strong, maybe too strong. The unit will not move when properly set to a smooth countertop or surface. In my case, while trying to move the slicer after the third use, one of the suction cops held so tight that the mounting screw pulled through it. I had to remove the screw and remount the suction cup. This will likely be an ongoing issue and may be corrected with a better mounting option by the manufacturer. Cleaning is quick and easy as it does break down nicely. The table, pusher, and blade are easily removed giving full access to clean the machine itself and the parts can be cleaned easier as well. I personally prefer hand washing parts so I did not check to see if the parts are dishwasher safe. Refer to the manual on that. Again, Overall it is a good product so far and I would not hesitate to purchase it again.

I am very pleased with the Anescva food slicer. I have cooked my own roast beef before but it was hard to get thin and uniform slices. I went on YouTube to see a video on how to use it and it was a breeze. Then I used it to slice cheese and it was a breeze. All of the slices of cheese were very uniform. I’m not sure where I read this, but it is easier the slice meat if you put the meat in the freezer for awhile (I put it in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes). Cleanup was a breeze and only took less than 5 minutes. I would suggest using a toothbrush to clean out the small amount of residue that was hard to access. BTW: It was a 2 pound roast and I cut it in half. This is not a commercial food slicer and it is much easier cutting smaller pieces (like a pound).
