I usually like Mead products, and I might change this to a 4-star review if my biggest concern doesn’t turn out to be an issue. That biggest issue: the holes are punched pretty close to the edge of the paper, meaning it’ll be easier for the holes to tear and pages fall out of my binder. (Picture shows a sheet of this paper on top of a sheet of Five Star paper in a binder.) The fact that it’s 8” • 10.5” just means about one less line per page. A lot of filler paper is smaller than standard printer paper of 8.5” • 11”. Even though I keep forgetting its size is a little smaller until I add printed notes to my binder, the product description clearly says the size, and that is not at all a flaw for my usage. In fact, this lets a sheet of printer paper become a quick and easy divider for my notes. Some reviews call it glossy, while others call it dingy. I think it’s a nice writing surface for notepaper and reasonably priced. ... show more

It's not pure white. It's thinner so the pen if you use a pen, bleeds through. It tears easily if you are not careful when it's in the binder. BUT, it's filler paper... It does its job. The Five Star Mead Paper in the picture behind it was $3.47 for 100 pages. I use about 100 pages for studying and homework for ONE chapter. This paper is thinner than most college-ruled paper and is noticeably off-white right out of the package. If you erase, there's a good chance that a dark speck or two will show up - more if you continue to erase. It appears the wood pulp used wasn't dyed properly to maintain a uniform color all the way through. If you use a mechanical pencil, be aware that it can be quite easy to tear through this paper when writing - especially when writing on hard surfaces, such as directly on a desk. Having a few sheets of paper underneath seems to decrease how often the lead will tear the paper. The header space at the top is larger than most, and the manufacturer could have easily added an additional ruled line and still have left plenty of space. At $11.17 for 600 sheets, it's one of the better prices per page available on Amazon. However, you get what you pay for. ... show more

Described as reinforced filler paper, meaning it should have reinforcement strip along the holes edge. It does not. And yes it’s 8 x 10-1/2 size not full letter size (btw, a lot of filler paper is that size).
