I really like this cover! I have a Dell Inspiron 5640 (16 inch) 2024 and there are not a lot of custom accessories for this model. This is one of the few! It fit my laptop perfectly with no issues at all. It was super easy to install - it comes in two pieces, the top and the bottom. I basically just snapped them on, easy peasy. They fit very well around the corners, there are no protruding parts that interfere with my typing or with the closure of the computer. All of the slots are still accessible. There are openings on the bottom for the fan. The bottom has two 'legs' that you can pop out if you want to elevate the edge a little. Since these are plastic, just know you would not want to move your computer around too much or press down on it as they will break off. The bottom also has rubber grips on the four corners for stability. The cover itself is hard plastic so it will provide *Some* protection from something hitting your computer but it is not going to be completely crash/crush proof should you drop it or anything like that. The colors are super fun and I appreciate the variety that is offered. I chose the pink and had a hard time getting my phone camera to capture the correct color. The first picture that shows just the top is closer to the color. NOTE that the cover is translucent, so if you have a silver or black computer it is going to affect what color your cover actually looks like when it is on. I am Super Pleased with this cover and have no issues with it at all. The price is fair I think considering the custom fit, the quality of the material, the thoughtful design and length of use I can get from this. ... show more

This is compatible with the Dell DC16251 (mine is a touch, so maybe also fits the non-touch version??). According to official specs, the DC16251 is 1mm thicker than the 16" Inspiron, so I took a chance and this fits! All the little edge clips snap into place and all the ports are accessible. It allows full screen angle opening (remember to hold from the middle where the webcam is, and not the corners... that's just good laptop operation in general). The plastic is thinner than i expected, but that means it's slim enough to slide easily in and out of the neoprene sleeve I have. The corners are designed for a little extra space as bump protection, which is great because my model is quite heavy, and will obviously be ported around often. The vent holes are clear and the integrated lift on the laptop bottom is also reflected in the plastic mold. The flip out legs work, but they flex a bit with the weight of the laptop, so I will only use at a desk where it will not be disturbed and only if it needs additional airflow from doing lots of processing/heat. I'll post pics later, but I wanted to get this info out there as soon as possible if someone else is already shopping for their back-to-school electronics. This snap case is great for additional insurance against damage. I added a tempered glass screen protector to my order so I am confident this will last a few years. The clear plastic lets the natural silver show through (or your color if it came custom), or in my case will probably have stickers all over it. Note: for the base piece, get the back hinge side in first, then drop the front edge in. I don't want to test the durability on purpose, but I expect if it falls far, the plastics will crack doing it's job of protection. However, it survived a cross country trip in a paper envelope, so the plastic may be more durable that I'm thinking. I'm actually ordering a second one so we have additional insurance! ... show more

This case is EXACTLY what I was looking for. It is a two-piece hard shell case that I wanted to protect my laptop from everyday wear and tear, scratches etc. I have the 2025 16" Dell Inspiron PLUS DB16255 Series and I was really hoping that there would not be too much of a difference between the models so that it would fit my laptop. Unfortunately, there are a few minor bumps and things that do not align with the cut outs designed in this case and so I am unable to use it. However, I was really just hoping for a miracle since my series is not the one listed for this product. One thing that I did not expect to like so much are the little kickstands on the bottom piece of the case, I actually love them and will now try to look for another cover that has them. I cannot comment too much on the size or durability of the product as I will be returning it. However, I was able to get the bottom piece aligned and it very easy to snap on, so I imagine that if this case fits your laptop that the top will be just the same. TLDR: GREAT case if your series is listed as compatible! mCover if you are reading this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make a case for the 16" Dell Inspiron PLUS !!
