I was attracted to the Mcdodo Magsafe 3 Adapter because it seemed to be a reasonable alternative to the OEM cable, allowing me to use readily available PD USB-C cables to charge my MacBook Pro. Turns out I was right. While the form factor is a bit larger than the MagSafe 3 connector housing on the OEM supplied cable, the convenience more than makes up for the slightly larger size. It in no way, interferes with connecting USB-C devices to the neighboring expansion ports. The adaptor snaps into the receptacle and stays in place. I used it with a few different USB-C cables and did not find any looseness or play. The cable/adaptor combination provided uniform charge power level. See photo. The power level variation with time was +/_1 watt max, even when I attempted to disturb the connection by applying pressure to the cable or adaptor. In summary, I found the adaptor to work well and I intend to continue to use it as my default method of charging.

This is a handy little device. As a very frequent traveler, I like as many "dual-use" or multi-use items as I can get. This device allows a single USB C cable to plug into a phone (using USB C) or charge a modern Mac (any M-series Mac, except the M1 Mac Air, which used USB C only). The magnet is strong. There is a charging indicator led. This is a very handy device. —————————— How my star ratings work: * - Negative experience. This is a nice add to my travel case. I like being able to have a mag safe charging option on the road without having to pack a special cable. This lets me carry the charger for my MacBook Pro... which can charge my iPad and iPhone, while still using the magSafe port on my Mac and leaving the 2 USB ports open for other peripherals. the USB C port feels a little loose and half the time when I'm disconnecting the cable pulls out while the adapter stays magnetically attached to the unit, but it's not a bid deal to pull the adapter and plug it back into the end of the cable. If you're looking to shed one more thing from your travel kit, this might be a good fit for you.

This adapter has been the absolute best addition to my new charger I just purchased. The charger did not have the magnetic part that slows you to see when the MacBook is charged. This little spatter allows you to see just that. But functionality distant just stop there. It also helps to regulate the power going into your MacBook. It’s very durable and is a great value for your money. This allows the charging speed to safely be where it needs to be without burning up the computer or the charging block. Before using this, the charging block got upwards of 140 degrees. Now it stays under about 120 when it’s charging and being used at the same time, playing a game. Totally would buy again if I had to.

I love this little USB-C to MagSafe adapter for my MacBook Pro! I've never brought a MagSafe cable with me on my business trips because it has only a single use, whereas a standard USB-C cable can handle many devices. However, sometimes, I wish that I didn't have to use one of my USB-C ports as a charging port, because I'd prefer to use it for any number of external devices. That is why I LOVE this little adapter! I don't have to carry a MagSafe cable, but I can still charge using MagSafe, and it'll add only a negligible amount of weight to my backpack. Genius! I've wanted a device like this for years, without realizing it. Anyhow, I'm SO very glad that I have it now! Seems well built. Great value for the money. A very easy 5 stars.

I got this for travel because it eliminates the need for a single use cable for the MagSafe charger on my MacBook Air and still leaves my 2 thunderbolt ports (USB-C) available for other uses. The MagSafe adapter comes off just as easily as the original MagSafe charger helping to prevent accidentally pulling the computer to the floor. I love that it is tiny, about 3/4 in sq, and it also has a small but sturdy looped cable attached so it is easily secured to another item to prevent loosing my new favorite computer accessory.
