So we like wooden seats, and when we remodeled our bathroom last year we got a new toilet. Well, the new one came with a plastic seat. We quickly replaced it with a wooden one from Lowes. And of course, the seat never stays tightened. I think we have gone through 3 different wooden seats in a year. I decided to buy a toilet seat during prime days because we needed one and it was a great deal. This seat PROMISES to stay put with the special bolts that come with it. Plus, a slow close lid. Well, it does not disappoint!! Our household of four has not caused the seat to budge at all and I've not heard the seat slam since! And it goes for both the seat AND the lid! I’ve purchased this Bemis toilet seat before. And always a satisfied customer. It’s sturdy and heavy and yes it does not slam but slowly closes. I purchased the white round seat. Very important not to use bleach to clean it as it will take off the color. As my husband found out! The toilet seat has nice shine to it’s color. I also gave an extra one to my sister. Who always purchases the inexpensive plastic seats. And was surprised how comfortable and sturdy it was. Most important with time it does not loosen up and stays as sturdy as when you first install it. Very easy to install. Videos are great. Out of the blue, our LESS than 2yr old, $75 AMERICAN STANDARD brand wooden slow close toilet seat took its last crap...lol. Neither my husband or myself are overweight, nor did we stand on it or abuse it in any way for it just to suddenly break. In searching for a replacement, I happened upon this one, and read some of the reviewers lamenting about how this model ONLY lasted 2 years!! Same lifespan, for HALF the price of our previous one.... that's good enough for me!! Uber easy to install, and to clean around. It may not be as 'beefy' as our old one in weight, but it does the job, and if it lasts 'only' two years, I will be happy. ... show more

I'm satisfied with how long it lasted for the price, and speaking of, it's actually less expensive today than when I bought it in '21 (wish I could say that about fuel prices!). Installation was easy and it fit our bowl just right. The finalé was that the seat broke at one of the hinges where it folds. I was cleaning and it just came apart. It did what it was supposed to do in last the 2+years, faithfully slow closing to prevent my brain from rattling after my son did his whizbiz. But the white finish was starting to rub off and more grossly, a moisture stain was growing at the inner front edge because my toddler nephew was trained at his house to do his whizbiz sitting (which is totally fine btw). I'm gonna leave pics, don't look if you can't handle the truth. 😆Just saw that there's a plastic version, same brand, for a buck more so I think we'll go that route this time. Hopefully I won't be back for at least a couple more years to write the next review. ... show more

    • You WILL need a wrench, NOT a screwdriver!

The media could not be loaded. This toilet seat is AWESOME! High quality enameled wood, round, white. All the things I wanted. I purchased a cheaper brand initially and that was a big mistake as the entire ordeal was horrible. So, I immediately jumped on Amazon and bought this one instead. I had already tossed my old toilet seat. I needed a replacement ASAP. Luckily, Amazon made good on their one-day delivery promise and I got this seat delivered the next afternoon less than 16 hours later. Very happy! It is VERY sturdy, has a soft close feature, is super easy to clean, has a nice design, and looks great once installed. The best part about this toilet seat is that it is PERMANENTLY TIGHT. I can’t stand it when toilet seats start to loosen and shift around so you have to tighten them again and again. Well this one is completely different, and they mean when they say it won’t EVER loosen. The only way I could see this seat loosening is if the securing screw breaks, which is highly unlikely. As we all know, toilet seats don’t last forever. So how, you might ask, can you replace this seat if the sucker is permanently attached, hmm? Well that’s another cool feature! Just pop onto Amazon here and buy another of this exact seat. If you’re like me, you’ll buy several so you have them for future replacements in case of discontinued manufacturing. The seat has these little lever type things that you just slide open and the entire top of the seat will slide right out of its grooves! Kind of like taking a door off its jamb. This is also how you’d clean and sanitize the entire seat in an ergonomic manner, rather than bending over the bowl to do it. Your replacement seats you purchased would work the same since it’s the same model. Just pull off the top half from the unlocked position and install onto the toilet. The portion of the old seat that remains is only the securing screw… still super tight and clamped down. The inventor of this seat was a mad genius! I’ve never seen one like it but it’s definitely the ONLY seat I’ll buy going forward! READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! You WILL most definitely need a wrench of some sort to install this seat, NOT a screwdriver like most other types. The securing screw has to be tightened down enough on the underside of the toilet so that half of it literally snaps off which is how it becomes locked in place permanently. Only way to tighten it enough is with a wrench. Socket wrench recommended. This seat is NOT installed like typical seats, so pay close attention to how the arrows on the bolts face, which end of the snap screw to use, etc. I almost installed my seat upside down but caught it just in time. This is an important step because remember once the set screw is tightened and snaps off, it’s gonna be difficult/impossible to correct an alignment, orientation or position error. So go slow and get it right the first time. If installed correctly, it will fit perfectly and soft close like my video shows. Enjoy :) 12/15/22 UPDATE: I’ve had this toilet seat installed for 1.5 years. Do I still love it and stand behind my 5 star review? ABSOLUTELY!! The seat is STILL, 1.5 years later, as tight as the day I installed it in May 2021. I love this thing!! The underside of the seat is just barely starting to show some wear/tear for obvious reasons, which after 1.5 years of daily use, tells me how high quality craftsmanship this seat really is. I’ve recommended this to everyone I know! You should buy it, love it like I do, and tell your friends :) ... show more
