This is like a second mattress, when you put it on it stays where you put it. You almost need two people to unbox it and put it on the bed because it is that heavy duty. It is a full 4 inches thick And you will need deep pocket sheets to use it. We got it for my 85-year-old mother-in-law who absolutely loves it. She says she is sleeping so much better on this mattress. We wondered if it would cause her difficulty with the extra 4-in height, with being able to get up on the bed but she hasn't had any issues. We did a lot of research before making this purchase and we're very pleased with this product. Before this one she did have one of the egg crate type mattress toppers that are heavily advertised and it is the one with the copper. She did not like it at all because she felt that it made her hot and sweaty and did not give her enough cushioning. This is not been an issue at all with the new one. Because of her age, arthritis, bone issues, joint replacement and such She has a lot of pain so this product has been a good purchase for her.

I bought this pad because I have a split king bed, which was great when I had them separate but when I moved them together I got tired of losing my phone and books and ipad between the mattresses. This pad makes it feel like a real king size bed. The pad measures out at three inches but it doesn’t seem like it. I could have gone for the four inch but what I have works very well.
