  • Soft and comfortable additional chair for anywhere
The first thing I noticed about this chair was how much smaller the box was that I thought it would be. But when I picked it up and then opened it up, I quickly figured out why - this chair is shipping in the best example of vacuum packing that Ive ever seen - they some how managed to make it incredibly dense! As such, after opening it, I did have to give it about a day to get to full size (it was usable sized in a few hours, but not all the way there yet) with a few instances of "fluffing" it in there to break up the foam pieces. It did come back to shape without issue - I also used the upholstery brush on my vacuum to get some dust / fuzz off and fluff it more still. Once in shape, the chair is wonderful - you can use it as a more upright "sofa" type chair or unfold it more to be a lounger and the cushion is fully detached, so you can use that in an position you prefer. There's no "hard" structure in the sofa but the foam they use is fairly dense and does provide decent support even with out any internal wood/metal/etc. - in fact, I think the phrase "bean bag" is misplaced in the title since it gives the impression that this is more like a true bean bag chair which would be somewhat shapeless and always shifting. That's not the case at all here and it's certainly for the better! The upholstery is nice and soft and does seem like it will be quite durable - I can't comment on the stain resistance yet, though I'm sure with kiddos I'll have plenty of opportunities to put that to the test. The materials, foam and stitching all seem top notch and like they're meant to last which is a great thing. So if you could use a lightweight but comfortable additional chair pretty much anywhere, this is a great option to check out. Give it a try today! ... show more

  • Nice for a teen girl
I should have ordered the next size up, but it's a cute little chair for a teen room or hang out space. It came vacuum packed but it didn't take long for it to fluff up to a normal shape. I had to hit it a little bit to break up the stuffing inside. It is comfortable and my 12 year old likes that she can sit in it or unfold it to be a lounger. It's very soft too. ... show more

  • So Comfy
This is a very sturdy piece of furniture to be a bean bag. It is super comfortable and is easy to set up.

  • Not bad
This takes a few days and a lot of fluffing to get it to sit right, but looks nice and is pretty comfy once it's fully expanded. Not a huge fan of the fabric though

  • good for teens
I got this chair for the teen zone in the basement. It's kind of awkward when sitting up in it but when you pull it open into a lounger, it's very comfortable. The large cushion pillow that comes with it is nice and soft but the chair is more comfortable without it. My teens like it though and it's perfect for their space. ... show more

  • Material looks different from product pics, other than that I love it!
My son loves playing video games and he’s been wanting a comfortable seat of some kind, and this seemed perfect. He’s really tall, so I needed to make sure the size would work for him. I initially was unsure what size to get. They had everything from like XXXX-Small to XXXX-Large. I was initially thinking of going with the largest option. I thought the size would be larger overall (like larger in length, width, and depth). It wasn’t until I was looking at the dimensions for each one where I saw the size didn’t vary by much between them. Some were just SLIGHTLY wider, but not longer and/or taller. I ended up going with the Medium size (apparently option “6”). I didn’t think to make note of the measurements because I figured I could just look them up if I needed to. But, now that I want to see them, there’s only 2 options available - “Large” (option “7”) and the “XXXX-Small” (option “5”). So, I’ll use those dimensions to give an example of what I mean. The XXXX-Small dimensions (when in the chair style) are 30” wide in front, 15.8” tall in front, 43” diameter (length on side), and 27.6” in total height (the back). The Large dimensions (when in the chair style) are 30” wide in front, 15.8” tall in front, 44.5” diameter (length on side), and 27.6” in total height (the back). When I was trying to choose (I believe it was between Medium and X-Large or XX-Large), I swear all the dimensions were the same between them except for the width in the front. It was just like an inch difference, not enough to make spending the extra money on it worth it to me. So, I went with Medium. If they ever get the other sizes back, I’d definitely recommend CAREFULLY looking over the dimensions for each option to see if there is a difference at all, and where the difference is, if it’s enough to make the extra cost worth it to you! While it was a lot of packaging, I personally didn’t think it was a struggle. Just need some scissors on hand to do a lot of cutting. It comes in a large box that’s inside another box. When you open the 2nd box, you’ll see basically a ball of plastic. It has tight plastic ties around it to keep it in the tight ball shape. Cut those off, and then there’s tape around the ball of plastic. Cut that off, and the chair is vacuum-sealed inside the plastic ball. Once you cut the plastic that vacuum-sealed the chair, it’ll kind of start to expand, but not too much. I cut the plastic carefully (I didn’t want to risk nicking/cutting the chair). Once I cut it a little, I was able to cut it more easily without worrying about cutting the chair, and just cut the plastic across the top and was able to easily pull it off and from around the chair. It took me about 5 minutes to get it all unpackaged and clean up all the packaging. The chair looked pretty….rough. It was really a disappointment to see. I took photos of it when I initially got it out of all the packaging and more photos once I got it setup. The product photos make it look so pretty. But in person it looked like a matted mess. In the product photos, material looks like it is smooth but has just a little fluff/texture to it. Nothing at all like it really looks in person. They really need to show the material better so people know what to expect! The product description says the material is “boucle fabric,” so I looked up what that is and apparently boucle can be used to refer to either the fabric itself or the yarn it’s made of. Boucle fabric always has a knotty/nubby texture, thanks to the irregular, often curly threads of yarn it’s woven from. Boucle yarn is most often made of wool, silk or cotton fibers, making it a soft, cozy choice for upholstery. Boucle yarn gets its irregular look from the threads woven to create it. Typically, threads of two different tensions (one tight, one looser) are plied, or combined, which causes small loops to form in irregular patterns along the yarn's surface. It apparently also has a lot of benefits. The looped construction doesn’t absorb liquid quickly, so if you accidentally spill something you have time to clean it up. Some boucle fabrics are machine washable. Some fabrics are prone to matting and discoloration over time, but NOT boucle fabric, which makes it an idea, choice for busy households. So it’s long-lasting and easy to clean. It’s also know to keep you cool in summer and warm in winter! I thought it was interesting everything I read about boucle fabric said that it is a fabric that doesn’t get matted given the look of the material when it arrived looked very matted! Now, it does state “The chair bed is compressed and vacuum-sealed to reduce space and carbon dioxide emissions during shipping. Upon unpacking, allow the sofa bed to breathe for 48 hours to regain its original shape and size.” So, I had to give it the full 48 hours to see if it would become the nice looking chair I saw in the product photos or if it would stay looking the kind of matted mess I received. After a few minutes out of the packaging and once unfolded out of the ball it was in, it did look similar to the chair in the product photos. The material was what really looked crazy and NOTHING like the product photos showed. So, I was hoping that would change after the 48 hours. I did give it a little test immediately to see how it felt and it is really comfortable! The back didn’t have a lot of support. But, as long as you’re angled right, laying back, then it supports me nicely and I don’t feel like I’m going to go flying backwards. My son absolutely loved it and felt it was really comfortable. So, then I was really hoping it would turn into the nice looking chair I’d seen in the product photos because, as it looked at the time, I couldn’t stand to look at it every day 😅 Thankfully, after 48 hours, it did expand more and looked better. Enough where I’m fine keeping it and my son is happy about that lol. Hopefully, you can see in the photos that the material does look better than it did initially. BUT, it still doesn’t look like what the product photos showed. They really need photos that represent it better. There is one area on the pillow’s corner that didn’t expand right and looks odd. It looks like it was pinched and yanked. But, I didn’t do that. Maybe with more time it’ll expand some. For now, I flipped the pillow around and it isn’t as noticeable as it was when it was on the top (see photos, I labeled the photo that showed what it looked like before I flipped the pillow around and after I flipped the pillow around). I do think it’s overpriced. It’s very comfortable. It’s a good size. My son loves sitting in it to play his games, but I’ve come to enjoy sitting in it when I’m reading. The boucle material looks like it’ll be stiff and/or scratchy, but it’s not. It’s comfortable. Not what I’d call soft and fluffy, but still comfortable to sit on and feels fine to the touch. If it had the same look as shown in the product photos, then I’d think the price was okay. I thought so my the look of it initially given the size of it and how it looked. But now that I’ve seen it in person, I just don’t think so. It’s the look of the material that really throws it off. If you’re okay with it, it’s a nice, comfy chair that expands to a kind of bed. But if you’re expecting the really smooth, slightly fluffy looking material shown in the product photos, I think you’ll be disappointed. So check out the review photos (mine and others) to see what the material really looks like once it’s fully expanded). I give it 4 stars. If the material looked the same as the product photos, it would be 5 stars. Measurements I took myself: 40"D x 29"W x 26"H Across the front: 29” Height in front (from ground up in front): 15” Length across side: 40” Height in back (from bottom to top in back): 26” ... show more
