It was vacuum sealed, so I let it sit open and watched it fill out. It said to put it in the sun to get fluffy, but just so happen we had a couple rainy days. This floor mattress is super cute with a fun pattern. I need it for occasional sleep with my (5) dogs. This mattress serves that purpose well. It is somewhat thin but with a comforter it is perfectly fine. My biggest issue is rolling it back up for storage. The mattress does not roll very tight and it took a few tries to even get it mediocre. While I was hoping to get it into a closet, you can see it just will not fit. I was a little concerned because some of the reviews said it was thin and uncomfortable. For people searching, it is NOT a normal mattress. People were correct when they compared it to a mattress topper. I attached a picture so people could see the actual depth of this mattress in comparison to a soda can. That said, the mattress is very comfortable, soft, and the one I picked was exactly like what the picture showed so there were no surprises. If you do purchase, make sure you follow the instructions. A lot of people were complaining the mattress was very flat but you need to unfold it and leave it out for a while (preferably near a window where it can get sun) and it will poof up. I also like that it came with a cover like a pillowcase so you do not have to sleep directly on the mattress and it came with a black bag that you can store it if you don't want it out anymore. I’m in the middle of a camping trip and I have used this in my tent as a mattress. It’s great for the price. The carrying bag did rip but it is probably the worse material for a carrying bag. Might as well be paper. But that didn’t matter to me cause I didn’t have to carry it. It still held it rolled up but it has rips in it after one time using it. It’s really just terrible. The mattress however is fantastic! I’m a side sleeper and If you are on grass or soft dirt you won’t feel the ground. But if you are on some rocks you might. I have used it 4 nights now and it has held up like brand new. I love that it has the sheet that zips over it. (Looks exactly like the matress print) I have a dog with me and it will be great to wash that just because of the hair and dirt from tent camping. I use my sleeping bag over it and I am thrilled. It is not for backpacking. It rolls up big. Car camping only for sure. Overall very pleased. I’m sure you could use this for so many things but I am 100% happy I have this on my trip! ... show more

The mattress is beautiful and as described. Comfortable, easy to fold, the mattress cover is great. My only issue is the carrying bag. It is constructed of very thin fabric. The first time I attempted to pick the bag up, with the folded mattress inside, the strap ripped and tore the bag open. 😞 I now have no way to keep the mattress protected when transporting or storing it. If I am able to get this issue resolved, I will happily upgrade my rating to 5 stars. ... show more
