It was vacuum sealed, so I let it sit open and watched it fill out. It said to put it in the sun to get fluffy, but just so happen we had a couple rainy days. It comes with a mattress covering which fit perfectly and keeps the actual mattress clean! Not really the thick Japanese floor mattress I am use to. So I use it as a topper on my bed. I ordered the extra thick and it is not as described. Definitely wash the cover and spray the cushion. Has an odor. I have repurposed this as a topper for my bed and it is super comfy.

I was a little concerned because some of the reviews said it was thin and uncomfortable. For people searching, it is NOT a normal mattress. People were correct when they compared it to a mattress topper. I attached a picture so people could see the actual depth of this mattress in comparison to a soda can. That said, the mattress is very comfortable, soft, and the one I picked was exactly like what the picture showed so there were no surprises. If you do purchase, make sure you follow the instructions. A lot of people were complaining the mattress was very flat but you need to unfold it and leave it out for a while (preferably near a window where it can get sun) and it will poof up. I also like that it came with a cover like a pillowcase so you do not have to sleep directly on the mattress and it came with a black bag that you can store it if you don't want it out anymore. It is very cool, calming refreshing pad!!! Padding is not bulky and heavy, yet very comfortable and soothing just right. Good twin size I bought that fits perfect in between my full size bed as my mom is visits and I let her sleep on my bed I was sleeping on floor with stack on layers of mattress yet I would feel cold and sore!!! This mattress after long time gave me such a comfort sleep. Thank you. The mattress is beautiful and as described. Comfortable, easy to fold, the mattress cover is great. My only issue is the carrying bag. It is constructed of very thin fabric. The first time I attempted to pick the bag up, with the folded mattress inside, the strap ripped and tore the bag open. 😞 I now have no way to keep the mattress protected when transporting or storing it. If I am able to get this issue resolved, I will happily upgrade my rating to 5 stars. ... show more

First of all, the print does not look exactly like in the picture but it's close. Also puffs up to barely 2-3 inches and so it's still too thin for sleeping on a hard floor. BUT, it's great on an air mattress or bed for extra comfort! And for car- or tent-camping, I think it will be perfect. Pricey for what you get (even with a coupon) and forget about ever getting it into the flimsy included storage bag, but it's a keeper. ... show more
