I have bought this type of shelf before and was really happy with it, so I went with this brand because I needed 12 shelves. I really like it. Other reviews had me a bit nervous, but overall good! I was surprised at how short it was though. I'm 5'3 and it's a little over chest high. It comes with an awesome anchor. I haven't seen many shelves with an anchor kit, much less these cheap ones. It comes with 2, one for each side. I haven't anchored it yet because I haven't found it's permanent spot yet. You do have some extra to modify the style of the shelves. It comes with pretty good instructions on how to build and how to make each different style, including what will be left over from whatever style you pick. I homeschool, teach at church, and do crafts. I've put school books and 5 bibles on one shelf (we all know how heavy a Bible is) and it holds just fine. Definitely make sure to pack the bottom shelf heavy before you put anything heavy on top. It'll help keep it from tipping (which is true for any lightweight shelf), although I haven't stacked anything heavy on top so I haven't had any tip issues anyway. I really like how the shelves are wide enough for long bins. It's deep enough to hold regular size books and notebooks, but it is not tall enough for binders. I had to lay those sideways. So the individual bars aren't super strong, but keep in mind it's all about weight disbursement. All the bars together share the weight to hold anything you put on it. I just started a job with a new business, and I needed some shelving for my space to display credentials and other creative items (I’m a Creative Director at a branding business!) and so far so good! It was really easy to put together, the instructions are so easy to follow, and it looks so clean when put together! I’ve already gotten quite a few compliments on it, and it’s by far the easiest shelving unit like this that I’ve ever put together! It doesn’t look cheap, it doesn’t feel cheap, and I’m glad it has such great reviews overall that convinced me to give it a try! Great value shelf, the material is interesting and works for holding most items. You need to use the anti-tipping wall brackets for it to be truly stable, you can't skip this step. I highly recommend it.

Great bookcase. Light. Easy to assemble but instructions on end pieces are vague. Picture of the two different end pieces in instruction booklet look identical until you examine the actual pieces. Great price. Despite being light weight, easily handles full set of books. Recommended

I put this together! Believe me thats a big deal. I went slowly and made sure to tighten everything row by row. The cute little hammer isnt heavy enough. I had a half size one that worked better. All parts there. It looks great and Im finally getting my self organized! Extremely happy with it.

I have two boys, 1 and 3, they LOVE the little wooden hammer it came with to help put it together. It took about an hour, kinda tedious. Also, the fabric that goes between the bars could be stronger, it tears easily.

I've used a few different shelves of the same model but different sizes. They're all built the same. All the shelves I've had, they hold a bunch of stuff but the assembly is possibly the worst about it. Every single time it's a struggle to fit the rods into the holes only for 3 of them to pop back out. On several occasions give actually cut my fingers open on the plastic edges while fighting to put them together! It holds very well but at a possible price of blood and shredded skin :/ Would not really recommend unless you want smth cheap. ... show more
