My mattress is a few years old now, and it's no longer as comfortable as it once was. I picked up this mattress topper in the hopes of giving it a little extra padding. I was a little concerned that this topper didn't advertise how thick it was. Most memory foam toppers advertise that they're 2, 3, or 4 inches thick. This is NOT a memory foam topper. This is a quilted topper filled with a down-like material. I'd say that it adds maybe an inch in thickness to my bed. I have an 8 inch mattress, and the topper is admittedly too deep for it. The topper hangs quite loose at the sides. This topper also isn't water resistant. I have a water resistant, bamboo fiber mattress protector that I fit over it. This also had the added advantage of gathering up the loose folds of material from the topper. As far as sleeping on it goes, it's a lot like sleeping on top of a very soft comforter. It doesn't offer quite the support of memory foam, but it does offer additional cushioning and comfort. This did seem to help me get a better night's rest, so I would probably recommend it.

I like how soft it is lying on top of the quilted padding but...it's not memory foam and it's not thick. It's like a quarter inch puffy quilted pockets. It's also not cooling. We are experiencing a heat wave right now and I'm sweating lying on it (like lying on a comforter). But again...it's soft and puffy and I do like it. If you're looking for a soft quilted padding for your mattress...this is it.

It is not easy to find mattress toppers that are not memory foam, and I think memory foam is to hot. I was thrilled to find this. The padding is very nice, and it really helps to keep me cool. I know that memory foam traps heat, but before I had that information, I bought a memory foam mattress based on the comfort. Now it's hot all of the time. I like this pad to put a barrier between me and the heat of the memory foam. It has deep pockets so it's easy to put on the mattress. It washes up well with no pilling or other problems. I have very happy with this and I think it's a great value.

The mattress topper came in a vacuum sealed bag, so I gave it some time to "air out" and "fluff up" overnight...and it did not. It does add a little bit of softness and padding to the mattress, but if you are expecting it to be big and thick, it is not. Giving it a few stars because it is soft, but not as thick as the photo makes it out to be.

I bought this to use on an air mattress. Air mattresses can get cold in winter, but this will insulate and made the air mattress more comfortable for guests. Very nice quality
