Description

Matala Air Discs are 12 inches in diameter and are designed for the pond and wastewater treatment industry to very high standards. The air pore size in the rubber membrane is designed to give a medium size bubble which will not put any significant back pressure on the system. In fact this special air disc only adds less than 6 inches of water depth back pressure. The 3/4" male thread makes it easy to attach to your feed line. Capable of handling air flows of 0.88 to 5.30 CFM. The disc is very low maintenance and in some cases NO maintenance. Simply wash the disc with clean water and bleach if it ever needs cleaning. We have some of these air discs in systems now for over 3 years without trouble or maintenance.

Functions ok. Only 4 stars due to price and fact it is all plastic and I'm wondering how durable it will be long term. Keep in mind this is only the replacement disk, it is plastic and floats so weight must be added to sink it. I feel like it is a bit overpriced for what you get, but once sunk, it works. Care must be taken with the 3/4" threaded inlet as it is plastic also. I built a frame to mount it on and set it up so there would be minimum stress on the 3/4" inlet. So far, so good. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. From the moment I added it, you can see constant circle of waves from the bubbles from diffusser . It's been about 5 days . I should have taken a before video . Duck weed half inch was covering !

The media could not be loaded. Works very nicely. I have it hooked to a Hiblow 100LL pump and it is placed approximately 7 feet down at the bottom. Since this item does not have a base I used a 10lb weight. The fitting on the diffuser is 3/4 and my aerator hose is 3/8 so a simple barb fitting as pictured made a perfect connection. Overall it seems like a great product and produces nice tiny bubbles and a large boil. ... show more
