  • Works Perfectly!
I love this! Great value for the money, easy to use, easy cleanup! Used it for the first to make deer meat pies. They turned out awesome! Crust came out beautifully and golden flaky. They came out so easy with no mess! This works great for fruit or meat pies, quiche and more!

  • Good but very small
I wish so badly that there were bigger ones of this out there, as I can barely fit a tablespoon or two of filling into these without it overflowing. Isn't the easiest to clean, but worth it for some delicious crispy quick pies.

  • Great little tart maker.
After using this tart making machine, the only problem I had was I felt it cooked the tarts unevenly, so that the edges got done before the bottoms. So I tried blind baking the tarts with cupcake liners and baking weights for 20 minutes in the tart maker, and now the bottoms are fully cooked. Perfect for cherry pie filling. Now, no complaints. Yum. ... show more

  • Some design issues reduced the rating
Got my pie maker a few days ago and tested it this morning. I decided to go with two savory recipes - a sausage and country gravy pie and a cheeseburger pie. They turned out better than I expected they would so the operation of the machine itself is not a problem (the instructions say your first couple of pie batches are likely to be failures). My gripes are with the design of the machine and the lack of clear directions/instructions. First, the unit has no on/off switch - you plug it in when you're ready to start the cooking. Second, there are two lights on the lid (a green one and an orange one) but nothing in the instructions tell you what either of those lights mean. Third, the cord is hard-wired to the unit so you have the cord dragging behind you and/or getting in the way (why they didn't use a cord similar to an electric fry pan [plug the cord into the unit when you're ready to use it] is beyond me), Fourth, it's difficult to clean since neither of the plates are removable. Fifth, the instructions don't give any guidelines re: cooking time (I set the timer for my pies at 8 minutes but checked them at 6 and they were already slightly overdone). Sixth, the pastry cutter provided makes rounds that are too large for the spacing of the pie forms in the machine. Seventh, there are no instructions re: greasing the pie forms (I didn't and they came out of the form easily). The pies themselves are much smaller than they appear in the photos of the machine - they're less than 3 inches across and about an inch deep. Mine tasted okay given they were a bit overdone. I'll probably try a batch of sweet pies next and see how they turn out. However, given the cleaning hassle, I doubt this little kitchen toy will get a whole lot of use. ... show more

  • Made over 200 pies for an event!
I bought this to make over 200 mini pies for an event. It worked pretty well! Type of dough does make a different as well as filling. I found the Pillsbury premade crusts to work pretty good. Fillings like blueberry and raspberry which tend to be more runny were a bit harder. Apple and peach worked really well. I premade all the pies and froze. They thawed well (although the pies are better fresh, of course). For the price, I thought I could just toss this after I was done but it held up so well I will keep it. It’s a fun little machine. ... show more

  • Two in a row broken casing.
Shipped in box it comes in. Both damaged cracked casing with insides exposed. Second one damaged same way. Plus second one had missing dough cutter. I will never buy this product or anything from masterchef again. Do not purchase this item.

  • Perfecto Baking
These 6 mini pie slots are fabulous. They cook perfect. Less time from cooking in oven. I've made chicken Pot pies, cherry pies, banana nut muffins. Hmmhmm good. Today is pumpkin spice cake w/cream cheese frosting. AND cleans so easy. Price was good too. I've been comparing for two weeks. Amazon beats all other prices, even Walmart. Loving this product. ... show more
