  • Awesome smoker
Style: 30-inch, 2 Racks Pattern Name: Electric Smoker
Works great for my size family, easy to use, only thing to keep in mind is in weather, it does affect temperature control/length of smoking foods.

  • Worked OK…. 1 time
Style: 30-inch, 2 Racks Pattern Name: Electric Smoker
This smoker (2 shelf 30 inch analog) worked adequately for 1 smoking session. The temp is difficult to maintain but possible if you kind of split the high temp at 250 and the low around 200. I smoked 2 pork shoulders for about twelve hours and they got up to about 175 degrees. I finished them off wrapped n foil in my oven. Theres not a lot of good things to say about this smoker. Chips are hard to add, poor temp control, flimsy construction, inaccurate thermometer. I could have lived with it but the following weekend after my initial use , I plugged it in to preheat. Half an hour later I found the internal temp to be at 100 degrees and he element not working. It had tripped the breaker, mind you this was the same breaker that worked for twelve hours the previous weekend. I moved the smoker to another outside outlet and it tripped as well. So much for smoked chicken legs. On Monday I attempted to call Masterbuilt customer service but got some BS to leave a message. My next call was to Amazon, who returned my call in 30 secs. The Amazon CSR tried to call Masterbuilt and she got the same message. I would have been satisfied if Masterbuilt had answered the call and offered to send a new element despite the many shortcomings of the smoker. It was decided to send the smoker back. I told the CSR that I had already disposed of the box since it had worked for twelve hours. She said “just wrap it in a garbage bag and take it to UPS”. I disassembled it and placed the parts inside and duct taped the door shut and double wrapped it in heavy plastic bags. I hauled the 40 something pound piece of junk to UPS and expected them to wrap it and return it to Amazon. But no, I was informed it would cost me thirty dollars for a box. So much for boxless returns. I gave UPS the thirty bucks and watched them pack it with no padding into a cardboard box. I called Amazon when I got home and they agreed to give me a thirty dollar promotional credit. Thank you Amazon! I wish they could teach Masterbuilt how customer service Should work. Lesson learned….save the box and don’t buy anything from Masrerbuilt. ... show more

  • Great Smoker saves money from big grill Charcoal
Style: 30-inch, 2 Racks Pattern Name: Electric Smoker
I have a barrel grill with side box Smoker that I love. But it takes a lot of coal and wood to use it. Only if I have a huge crowd I would use my barrel grill. But even if I do have a huge crowd I still can use this Smoker here. It saves money because a bag of wood chips last me for 5 months maybe longer. I use chips and small wood chunks. When I tell you it works amazing. My wife loves this thing. I don't have to keep checking like my grill I just set it and leave it. Food is so good. Smokes so great no over powering. I have done ribs and chicken wings and hamburgers and they come out amazing. You can't go wrong on this. I clean mine after every use inside and out. One thing I wish they did would give you a tray for the bottom flat inside the smoker even though they have a small drip cup under the smoker if so I wouldn't have to clean much but what I did to remedy that is a aluminum foil pan like a turkey pan I add it in the interior under the burner before cooking evertime and bend it tell it stretches to help with drippings. That works amazing! Now the key is don't tighten your screws up all the way on your burner so you can be able to detach your burner at anytime to clean and add the aluminum pan. Besides that this thing is a great buy. I also add an extension cord on mine not a surge protector because the surge protector can't handle the wattage unless you get one to handle it. The reason for the extension cord is to move it around and to help if you have problems with your socket. One last thing I add a drip towel or an old blanket under mine as well so when I pull out the trays it won't fall all over where I am cooking. Well hope that helps you guys. I love this thing!! ... show more

  • A great beginner's smoker
Style: 30-inch, 2 Racks Pattern Name: Electric Smoker
First time smoking meats, needed something cheap to see if I could pull it off. While I was able to smoke a Pork Butt with little issue, there's a lot left to be desired from the smoker. 1) It is built CHEAP - like the bare minimum to qualify as a smoker. When it arrived the locker was so thin that it was damaged in transport. I was able to bend it, *by hand*, back into a shape that is usable. 2) The heater at max with meat in it barely reaches 250F. The heater itself really isn't the issue, a heater coil is a heater coil. However the walls of the locker are so thin that it poorly insulates and let's heat leave easily. I question if this can be used in winter/fall. 3) No frills at all - no timer, no actual temp based thermostat, no ports for reading food temps - nada That all said, if you want a ultra cheap cooker as a starter or as a stand by, it does work. For the price, you can't complain too much. ... show more

  • Good smoker but has issues
Style: 30-inch, 2 Racks Pattern Name: Electric Smoker
This was my first foray into using a smoker. It worked for a little while then started popping breakers. It is flimsily built. They used thin gauge wire to the heating element and then did not insulate the heating element in the control module. It literally burns itself out. Save your money and spend a little bit more for the next model up. Controls are separate from the heating element. It could be a great smoker if they spent a little more money on the controller/ heating element setup. ... show more
