  • It's a lock, it works and is sturdy. What more?
Style: 1 Pack
It's a lock, it works and is sturdy. What more? Only two gripes, 1. the rubber combo cover is entirely rubber, so it's easy to knock it off. vice versa, it's easy to put it back on. I suggest just leaving it off. Does it help with waterproofing? Maybe a little, but it's loose, so not much. 2. One of my numbers doesn't rotate in one direction very well. It gets stuck. Bad manufacturing tolerance? Basically, if I'm at 8, it is difficult to rotate to 9. Easier to rotate down to 0 and back to 9. ... show more

  • It's Master Lock! Enough said. Read below for how to open packaging...there's a trick to it!
Style: 1 Pack
Great security locks. Like that it comes with instructions. You do have to cut packaging away though and peel off the back label. When you look at the back of the lock and the black label on the back, look towards the bottom right-hand corner, peel that part of the label off and you will see the lock combo/PIN it is set with and instructions on how to reset it. I was cutting off all the packaging, trying to figure out how to free the lock but as soon as I was able to open the lock with the lock combo it was set with, I just eased that sucker right out of it's packaging. Always READ the INSTRUCTIONS, I guess. Lesson learned. ... show more

  • Does a good job.
Style: 1 Pack
I like that I don't have to chase after the keys to get into the shed. Only thing I think they could improve is the rubber cover that swings open, sometimes it does not stay shut.

  • Feels like a really solid, heavy duty lock
Style: 1 Pack
This lock is heavier than I thought it would be. Feels solid and very durable. I like the fact that the combination is on the bottom of the lock instead of the side where it would be directly exposed to the elements. The rubber covet that covers the tumblers seems flimsy and like it would deteriorate easily over time. Would prefer to have a more durable cover. Tumblers only move in one direction as some have noted, but doesn’t bother me. They are also big enough where you are not accidentally turning the tumblers next to the one you are trying to set. I love that you can set your own combination to something you can remember instead of some random one set by the mfg and it is easy, like setting your own on a luggage lock. So far happy with this lock and seems worth the higher price for weatherproofing, but only time will tell ... show more

  • Burley lock, but a little odd
Style: 1 Pack
I do like this lock, and it sure seems bomber, however the one problem I have is that the numbers need to line up at a strange angle to the lock (not flush with the bottom or side). There is a line to indicate where to line up the combo, but it's odd and somehow always throws me off. It's a small problem, but seems like something the design team would have caught before it left the drafting table. Otherwise, great lock. ... show more

  • Robust, Tank of a Combination Lock!
Style: 1 Pack
I needed to replace the combination lock securing my caddie locker, so decided to upgrade the security level a bit. (We had some recent attempts to break into our lockers in the caddie shack.) Although this Master lock is just a bit heavier-duty than I probably need, I'm pleased with its function and appearance. Setting the combination for the first time is very easy. As an older guy, I really appreciate the larger, easy to see numbers on the combination dials. Some of those those wheels appear to only rotate in one direction, which is a minor annoyance. Once unlocked, the shackle unlocks smoothly, and secures just as easily. While the thicker shackle is kind of a tight fit through the locker holes, it still functions well. Finally, the rubber dial cover isn't necessary for my indoor application, but I do appreciate the bit of privacy it provides. Solid combo lock. Glad I invested in it. ... show more

  • Lock seems well made, but they made some dumb design decisions (IMHO)
Style: 1 Pack
We just bought three of these. The first challenge is that all the text on the packaging was in Spanish. I assumed it was instructions for setting a new combo, but couldn’t read it. So, my next challenge was figuring out the factory combination setting. It came set to 9999. Nope. Then I tried 0000. Nope. Then I saw on the packaging a highlighted number :”7”, so I tried 7777. Nope. Finally I discovered a small box in the packaging, with microtype indicating to open it up to retrieve the default code and instructions. I lined up the code numbers on the middle line of the spin dials and they didn’t work. I tried a second lock, with its own default code, and that didn’t work either. It was only after reading a customer answer (Brian C—Thank you!) that I discovered that you don’t line the numbers up in the intuitive middle of the dial, where there’s a line etched into the base. No; you line them up at the top, where there are a couple of almost invisible notches. Finally, I got my own new combo set. But, now, whenever I give out the combination to someone, I’m going to have to accompany it with an explanation of the unintuitive placement for the numbers. What a dumb design decision!! One other poor design decision: there is a small rubber cover to the inset spin dial area. One of the three locks is already missing it’s cover, and we just received the locks a few hours ago! The other two are so flimsy that we don’t expect them to last for very long. Not to be too picky, but even with the limited space available to inset the numbers in each of the four spin dials they could have put more effort into making them easy to read. You need very bright light or 20/20 vision to see well enough to use this. Even sitting in my kitchen I found it hard to read the numbers. ... show more
