Wow, I am at a lost for words but I will try my best. First off, the color choice is not yours so it was like going back to my childhood waiting for Xmas with the anticipation of which color the scientist at MasterLock would send directly to ME! It turned out to be light blue which is OK because even though I am member of the 203-UBN. I just told the homies that it was Carolina Blue for Michael Jordan and it was cool. But let’s get to the actual lock. Let me tell you...it works! No matter what I put the lock on, people cannot seem to get into my stuff. My cellie Prison Dan is always trying to get into my stash, this lock has made sure my soup packets, soap, and K2 are there when i get back from the showers or the yard. If you are looking for a durable lock, look no further. The other day this Crab goofball defaced my tag in the laundry room and I had to set it on him. I through this amazing product right in one of Prison Dan’s extra large tube socks and went to town. When I got outta Seg and back in Gpop, the lock was still working! I use to love these locks as they last a long time but had to stop using them a while back when my cash kept disappearing everytime I went to the gym. At first I thought I was not keeping track of my spending then one day I got some money from the ATM right before a workout and went for coffee afterwards only to find my cash was gone again. A friend told me to watch a YouTube video to see how fast these locks could be overcome. I watched a video that showed a person taking a piece from an aluminum can and wedging it into the lock where it opens and watched the lock pop open. I have since used other Master locks which I have lost the keys to while working out, and other combination locks that broke after being dropped. When I seen this lock, it said the company had included an anti-shimming feature which was basically a few ridges which would snag a piece of aluminum shoved into the opening to push the locking mechanism open. Although I seen another video which showed this, too could be overcome no reasonably affordable lock is truly able to stop a determined thief. But for the price, and the new anti-shim feature I am back to using a lock that is slightly harder to break into. Apparently all these locks are for is to keep the honest people honest. And I no longer leave my wallet (or any valuables) in the locker. ... show more

Cheap lock. No keys! I haven't used one of these since high school. I forgot how great they are. The combination is taped to the back by the way, so you want to stash that someplace handy in case you forget. This is the standard Master Combo Lock you can get anywhere, but what makes it so great is how cheap it is. Now, speaking of "cheap," it is a bit chintzier than the one in the 1970's. It is not as smooth of a dial feel, and the plastic dial is a bit lower quality craftsmanship, but it does its job. This is great for locking garages, bikes, lockers, gates, and such. Medium security. It is not designed against FBI raids or hardened criminals, but as "locks keep honest men honest," this is an extremely inexpensive deterrent to people swiping your stuff. I had to get one for a swim test (locker use), and for six bucks (Amazon price) including shipping (Prime), this was too good of a deal to pass up. You can rely on this. It is "the brand" and the combination part is nice. Unlike past models, this does not come with an alternate "key unlocking feature" in the back. If you lose the combination you will need a Dremel to cut this thing. ... show more

I ordered green colored lock and they sent me a red one. Not a game changer. Lock works fine. Would have given this lock a five star rating but because of the mistake, it got the four stars I gave it.

I actually expected a lot better from a combination lock. I mean, come on, these things are everywhere--how hard can they really be to manufacture quickly and easily? The price is a bit low, I will say, but given the number of people who have used and liked this brand, I expected to receive a lock that is much higher quality that what I received. The color is nice, though. I ordered the "randomized" color version, which I guess means that they will send you whatever color they want or whatever is available? I ended up with blue, which was a pretty color. Bit of an odd way to sell combo locks, but again, for the price, I was willing to give it a go. The lock's construction is pretty poor, though, and I do wish I'd gone with a more expensive (but better-constructed) option. The parts just feel "cheap" and they wiggle a bit in a way that gives them an inexpensive feel. This also wouldn't be an issue if the thing wasn't so hard to actually unlock. I've used plenty of combination locks in my day and generally know how to work them, but this one is ridiculously finicky. Sometimes it will unlock on the first try, sometimes on the sixth, most times after 2 or 3 tries. It takes me a while every time to open it, and more often than not the wheel will become harder to turn as I'm trying to unlock it. It seems like it gets stuck between attempts and does not register the notches I turn to. It's more of a pain than anything else, but it does keep my locker secure and it looks decent, so I'll give some credit for that. If this is something you'll be using regularly at all, though, do yourself the favor, save yourself the hassle, and spring for something even just a few bucks more expensive. I really believe it'll be much better than what you get here. ... show more
