The Master Lock 1500iD Speed Dial Directional Set Your Own Combination Padlock features a 2-1/8in (54mm) wide metal body for durability. The 1/4in (6mm) diameter shackle is 1in (25mm) long and made of hardened steel, offering extra resistance to cutting and sawing. The patented up/down/left/right directional movement technology is faster, easier and more secure than a standard combination lock. The locking mechanism features anti-shim technology, offering maximum security.

This type of lock is great for use for areas that need frequent access by different people. I put it on a cabinet at work and I love that the stuff is secured yet authorized personnel can easily access it without needing a key or fiddling with a dial. Being able to easily recode it is very useful as well. Pretty straightforward. An incredibly convenient lock that is very quick to unlock. Only downside I've noticed is they don't do well in cold temperatures and may end up failing as a result. I used one of these to secure an alcohol cage in a walk-in refrigerator and it failed after a few months. I also used one of these to secure a garage during a particularly cold winter and it also failed after a few months. Looks like a pretty decent lock. However the pad seems a little flimsy. The lock itself was broken upon receipt. The lock won't open and can not be reset.

We purchased two of these. One of them came and we were unable to open it with preset code that it comes with. We ordered another and then had trouble resetting the code. We needed it for an "escape room" type activity and needed it the next day so we did not have time to order another. We ended up braking open the lock to reset it.
