Description

The Master Lock no. 1175LHSS proseries resettable combination padlock is designed for commercial/industrial applications and features a 2-1/4in (57mm) wide solid brass body for superior corrosion resistance and a 2-1/16in (53mm) tall, 3/8in (10mm) diameter stainless steel shackle for additional corrosion resistance. A set-your-own combination feature offers convenience and security with 10, 000 possible combinations – no reset tool required – and a deadlocking mechanism protects against prying, shimming and rap attacks. From the Manufacturer Designed for today's security requirements, the new Master Lock 1175LHSS ProSeries Resettable Combination Locks combine the strength and weatherability needed to withstand harsh treatment and tough environments. Available in brass, stainless steel and durable die cast models, these locks have new features that improve weatherability, the dial dust cover and the shackle seals keep dust and grit out of the internal mechanisms for trouble-free operation. Stainless steel shackles are also available on some models. These ProSeries locks stand up to physical attacks like no other resettable can. The enhanced octagonal boron- carbide shackles are twice as hard to cut as standard hardened shackles and the dead-locking mechanism holds against pry, shim and rap attacks. The ProSeries Resettable Combination locks combine these security improvements with added user convenience. With 10,000 possible combinations, the large ergonomic dials permit operation with gloves, in low light or complete darkness. These locks are also easily set with no special reset tool required.

A great combo lock - feels solid and there is a clever way they built into it to set your own 4-digit combo. The rubber flap that covers the dials is worthless and will get lost after the first couple uses - it just falls off. As is the black band that goes around the middle - just for looks I guess? Neither are really needed though, but my thought is either save the money and ditch these parts or do them right - the current execution of these features is lame though ... show more

Would have given this 5 stars if the rubber covers on the lock were sturdier. Both are not going to last long as they fell off just opening the lock. The lock itself is great!

I bought this to replace another Master Combination lock that only lasts a few months on an outside gate, I am hoping this will be more durable and easier to set the numbers. The rubber flap over the number wheel seems somewhat mickey-mouse and questionable quality given the stoutness of the rest of the lock. ... show more

    • Holds up well in harsh midwest weather
I am using this outdoors all year long in the midwest (northern illinois) and it has surved the hot summer days and cold snowy and wet winters. No signs of wear or locking up. The rubber cover for the dials do a good job of keeping the number dials clean and usable. Ability to set or change code is a great feature. Pros - holding up well in hot summers and cold winters - long enough to fit fence latch - no signs of dials locking up Cons - rubber cover for dials can fall off at times but is easy to put back on. ... show more

The lock looks sturdy and setting the new code is easy as pie, although I've never made pie. The rubber flapper looks like it is just a decoration, because clearly it won't keep anything but large animals out.... It won't keep rain or dirt out, and it never stays shut. There are a couple of tiny indents in the casting, and I suppose the rubber tabs should go into those indents and hold it in place, but in real life they don't. We'll see how it holds up to the elements soon enough! ... show more

    • BIG. HEAVY. LOCK.
This lock was totally overkill for my intended purposes, but I am enjoying it nonetheless. It appears very well made and is very easy to use. The numbers "click" into place when you rotate them, so it makes it easy to set your combo. I am using it in a very dust-prone area so I do appreciate the little flap that covers the mechanism on the bottom. I like the length of the shaft (start your jokes in 3...2...1) because it enables me to rotate the lock up to see the code. I have it installed on a trunk which stands about 2' high. As another reviewer mentioned, there is a warning that basically states there is a carcinogenic material used in the manufacture of this lock. I ordered it in hopes that perhaps that "issue" had been corrected. Alas, it has not. I figure living in Los Angeles I probably encounter or ingest plenty of carcinogenic things without any warning, so I just don't put my hands in my mouth after use. That said, this lock does not get 5 stars because of whatever evil stuff it contains. ... show more

    • Compared to other locks this thing seems overpriced
The combination was easy to set but considering this lock is relatively expensive this lock seems cheap. I don’t think it’s worth the money and the rubber flap and bumper on it will not be long for this world.
