I've owned many subwoofers going back to 2000 feom 'regular' subs to competition subs usually in a dual setup. A friend of mine with more car audio knowledge built me a box for it porting into my cabin around feom the trunk. If you set your gains right, supply enough power (Big3), and let the Spiders loosen up, I guarantee you will love everything this sub supplies MINUS the WEIGHT! THIS SUB IS NOT AN 'EASY HANDLER'. Be especially careful inserting it into your box; the finger- pinch is awful right here. It definitely is loud. I only ran it @4ohm with an RP3500 for a grand total of 1250 watts; 3500 @ 1ohm was going to be overkill. I wish I could buy two however, the specs were demanding for my very small trunk. May look into Summos since I can fit two in my car. ... show more

Amazing. Just amazing. Baaaaarely fits behind the third row seat in the ole Yukon. I cant wait to hear it. Its huge. Its solid. Its heavy. 52lbs. They mean every ounce of it. Im gonna dust of the old jl 1000/1 and see what happens. Im actually kinda surprised at the specs. 14in3 for optimal sealed box. Not bad for a 50lb beast. Anywhoo. Ill update once i break it in and get used to the daily grind. For the record, i only plan on using half of this sub. Double the engineering, double the life. Plus, i dont really care about waking the neighbors up when im 2 miles away. I just want it to sound like it INSIDE the car. I havent been 17 in 11 years. And obnoxious bass, well...thats for the chumps. ... show more

These things are like wine: they keep getting better and better with age as the break in. I have two of them. Since they are dual voice coil, I'm running four 1000 watt RMS Kenwood amps, one to each coil. I've been running them for about 3 months. Now they take less power to twist my rear view mirror within 15 seconds. The bass is INSANE. You've got to power these with 2 alternators and 3 batteries to reach a good level where your car interior starts to fall apart. The visors, dash, windows, side mirrors, roof, wipers, and dome light visibly move a lot. I highly recommend them. ... show more

Love this sub it's so mean getting one more tonight. I'm using a kicker 1200.1 to break it in @1 ohm test tone 40hz 39.42 vac and when that's done they both will be paired with my audio pipe 3000d. Little bit by little bit my ultimate system will be complete. Back in the day I had 4 earthquake hp 12s and a earthquake dhc200 driving them in a 84 two door regal it was bad for it time 1999.
