  • This thing is a blues machine
Size: Right Color: Whiskey Sunset Burst
WOW. This guitar is the real deal. If you're chasing soul, emotion, and the kind of blues that hits you in the chest, this thing delivers in a way I didn’t think was possible. It’s exactly what I hoped it would be, and somehow even more than I can handle. I’ve had mine for three years now, and it still wows people every time I pick it up, even with my pretty average playing, usually in DADGAD tuning. The tone is warm, full, and deeply bluesy. It sounds like it was born in the Mississippi Delta, raw, rich, and full of character. There’s something in the way it resonates that feels alive. Whether you're fingerpicking, playing slide, or just messing around, it responds with this deep, honest voice that draws you in. What amazes me is the balance. It’s incredibly lightweight and delicate to hold but when you give it some gas, it growls with real power. It has that rare quality where you feel connected to every note, like the guitar is breathing with you. It also doesn’t have that thick glossy varnish you’ll find on a lot of modern guitars. The finish is a smooth, rustic matte that doesn’t show fingerprints and really lets the wood breathe. It gives the instrument a kind of freedom you just don’t get with heavier finishes, and it absolutely contributes to the resonance and feel. Speaking of which, it’s extremely lightweight. A Martin D-28 weighs around 4.5 pounds. This bad boy comes in at just 3.3 pounds, and you can feel that difference the moment you pick it up. I highly recommend checking out Justin Johnson’s YouTube review. It was a big part of why I took the leap on this guitar and he really captures its magic. One thing I want to address is the size. Someone said it felt too big but for me at 5'11", it’s super comfortable. Actually smaller than a D-18 so I’d say it’s a bit more compact than a typical dreadnought. Easy to play, never feels bulky. And if you’re coming from something brighter and sharper like a Taylor, you’ll notice a huge shift. This guitar leans warm, mid-heavy, and soulful. No harsh treble, just smooth, resonant tone that fills the room. Bottom line: this guitar is special. If you’re looking for something with heart, grit, and real blues character, just get it. You’ll feel it the second you start to play. ... show more

i returned mine. i am 6 foot tall, w long arms. it has a big and thick body. my right hand fell too close to the bridge and made a brighter sound than it would had i been picking nearer the sound hole. nice tone but uncomfortable in my lap.
