Perfect! I bought 2 of the 84" bookcases and I couldn't be happier! I love the wheat color. They were packed with care and were not damaged in any way during delivery. They arrived in a week-and-a-half. They came in great big boxes so the deliverer left the bookcases in our garage. I needed to hire someone to help me get them into the house and then secure them to the wall so they will not tip over. The secures came with the bookshelves. The shelves are very strong. The product was damaged on one side from shipping. I called Martin Furniture and they refunded part of the cost. They offered to ship out a new one, but we'd have to ship the damaged one back so this was an agreeable solution to both parties. Excellent customer service! I also have a large desk with a side return that I purchased over a year ago from Martin Furniture and love it. No damage and it continues to function well. ... show more

This bookcase is Spectacular! I love it. It came incredibly well packed and protected. I would definitely buy another one and there is a choice of three different types of wood.

    • Beautiful bookshelves
Takes forever to get out of the very strong carton it's in (I used a serrated knife and ran it down the LONG side; the short side is too stapled). Then I had to put them together. Nothing is difficult about this, but it took me three days to figure out the serrated knife idea (I tried a crowbar, too, which didn't work). This is very heavy, to boot. And it takes all day to put them together. The wood is very nice (or whatever it is; I rather wish I'd gotten the darker, although the lighter is perfect with my floors). I recall there was one or two screws or edges (whatever they are called) that didn't come with this but the shelves fit anyway. I put both of mine on the landing facing each other, which is perfect. I did alot of research into what is available and read the reviews; truly these are not as hard to put together as some. I do think for the price, quality, and time-efficiency in putting together they are the best you might find. . ... show more

I do not usually write reviews, but this piece actually has impressed me. It came in a large crate and protected well. A true, real wood piece. The back is only 1/4", but really that is to be expected. The color was exactly like the picture. Just as a little more info, the shelf about a third of the way up from the bottom is affixed and part of the structure. I like it and it gives support to the very tall piece, but thought folks may want to know. I have found nothing like this anywhere near this price point. ... show more

Well built and sturdy. Update - ordered a third bookshelf which arrived on time, but it was damaged so shipment was refused and “I” had to get Amazon customer service involved and after requesting a replacement- had to ask Amazon to step in to just get a refund!!!

These are well built for the price range. We ordered three of them, and bolted them together to make one long unit. They look like they were built-in units. Very pleased!
