Got this for my son. Didn’t know what to expect from “Lego knockoff” but found there is no difference at all other than the lack of Lego logo. They are compatible with our actual legos. A better price and worth it!

This is a fun but challenging build. My kids 9 and 12 are very versed in Lego and this is no Lego. The instructions are not as good. But they were able to navigate them and complete the build with no issues. Came out really good. One recommendation is to first sort all the pieces by color and then shape to make it much easier. There are multiple bags of pieces and there does not seem to be any order. Once you have everything laid out and sorted that’s half the battle. They really enjoyed building this.

Great set for those future astronauts. It goes great with the Saturn V rocket and other space sets by another brand. I wish there were more Mars oriented sets to built or even the newer Blue Origin or SpaceX rockets.

Packaging : The set comes in a pretty well decorated box Labeled "Mars Rover Picture Frame". Yes, that sounds odd, and we'll come back to that. Inside the box are instructions, a 'picture' (mine was in the instructions), a sticker sheet, and several non-numbered bags, along with a few very large loose parts. Instructions : The instructions are (mostly) clear and well printed. Sticker sheet : This is ... difficult for me to honestly score, as while the box was (mostly) undamaged, the sticker sheet was bent so badly as to have popped most of the stickers off of it, resulting in a mess of stickers stuck to each other - which wasn't really usable. Fortunately, the stickers aren't really necessary. Parts quality : Okay finish but with a poor fit, with most parts being tight to the point of almost requiring tools for assembly. Set design : Going to stick JUST to mechanical principles and building techniques on this part. It's a C- grade here. There's parts that shouldn't move that do ... parts that should move that barely can ... parts that should be easily accessed that can't be ... connections that should easily detach that don't ... and the vast bulk of what I said is down to parts choice or design choices that would be *very* easy to have fixed. Overall thoughts : I've built worse, and when that's the best thing I can say for a set ... that's not exactly *good*. There's interesting - if questionable - ideas at work here, most of which are ill-explained or completely unexplained in the manual. The idea of adding a 'photo frame' to the Mars Rover? OK, yeah, that could work if done right - something that's a usable size and easily seen would honestly be kinda cool. What you get is a 4x4 (stud measurement) frame area that is mounted on the back of the rover so that it's only visible ... from the top. Somehow, there's a storage function in the rover itself for the 'photo' it comes with, but actually getting the photo OUT of that storage space is a trick I haven't quite managed to figure out, as the space isn't exactly easily accessed without tweezers. This ... is honestly a trend I can keep talking about for a while ; the set 'tries, and kinda gets close, but doesn't quite manage it' in many regards, including how much it looks like a Mars Rover. It's seriously like the designer had seen an image of the rover 10 years ago, and tried to design this set from memory ; it kinda sorta maybe is rover-ish but not really? Overall Verdict : If the parts quality was good, I'd say it's a parts pack. Since that's not even good? There's other options, at least one of which I suspect will prove to be a better choice.

I got this for my son who loves to build things. This one comes with a cute brick stand. -it comes with a brick puller tool. -The instructions are easy to follow with clear pictures. -The bricks are a good quality and it has cute tires. -it comes with stickers to put on the rover. Overall neat set, I would recommend for a gift or for a rainy day activity.
