Great little light, exactly right for my tiny growing space. Plants love it. Does not raise the temps in my space at all. If I had worse ventilation that would likely be another story, but you can totally hold even the hottest part of this light comfortably for a minutes without the risk of burning yourself. That means most of its power is going into producing photons. Seemingly very economical as well, has not impacted my bill year over year compared to not running anything at all. Here I review the 2024 Mars Hydro FC-1500 EVO grow light. In sum, it is a nice light for raising young plants in a small space, and I give it 4.6 stars. I started a new 2.5X2.5 ft. space for raising early phase plants. I looked at a Kind LED grow light but didn't like how I could not separate UV from IR. HLG makes good lights, but the HLG quantum board in question lacks UV and is difficult for attaching supplemental lighting. Only the FC-1500 gave me the potential spectrum flexibility that I wanted in a bar light design, which makes attaching supplemental lighting easier. I was not unhappy to look into a Mars Hydro model. I own an older model Mars Hydro FC-3000, and it has surpassed my expectations for several years. In my experience, AC Infinity makes good tents, fans, and controllers; Vivosun makes the best hangars; but for lighting, you have to take Mars Hydro seriously. The FC-1500 works well for my purposes. It nicely lays down 620 PPFD of balanced PAR light, which over 18 hours results in a DLI of 40. It is also good for germination and seedlings at lower intensities. While it lacks native UV, I can easily attach an outboard UV bar to its frame. And I can buy the Mars Hydro light together with supplemental UV for less than other lights. For those interested, this light works like a champ with the sunrise/sunset function of AC Infinity controllers. The biggest shortcoming of this light would be its 150w relatively low power. I would not use this light for flowering because it is not intense enough. I do not care about that last part, though, for I use it only with young plants in a small space. The media could not be loaded. 1 out of 3 fc6500 have failed so far. Trying to get support help is a very slow circle of emails with different people asking the same questions. Dealing with them has been ridiculous. I will never buy from them again. EDIT - After a couple weeks of back and forth emails they finally decide to charge me $20 for shipping to send me new power supply. They sent me one with a different connection. Here we go again with more emails. I still do not have working light. ... show more

800 watts is great for producing large fruits and supplying the plants with energy. The spectrum of the light is fine for the Vegetative or Flower phase of plants and is usable for the entire grow cycle. I really enjoy being able to dim the light if I need to control heat or reduce par output for younger plants. LED technology is a great upgrade from the traditional HPS and MH lamps (more control, less heat issues, wider spectrum, safer.) which is why I would recommend these lights for any home grower but I do suggest using a fan to directly cool the transformer and its connection point as they will get hot. ... show more
