Psychological Thriller, Dark, Twisted, Murder, Mental Health 💀Quick Synopsis: Chris has helped his high school friend Bones a few times clean up after a job. However, cleaning up isn’t mopping and sweeping but helping dispose of those Bones has murdered due to his job in the Mob. As Chris continues to help his mental health continues to slip and as does his grip on reality after murdering a sex trafficking monster on a job with Chris. Will those few supports around him help keep him from losing himself or will his past trauma and anxiety totally consume him? 💀Liked: This book kept me guessing what was going to happen next. If I could’ve avoided all my adult responsibilities I would’ve read it in less then a day as I did not want to put it down. I’m a bit of a picky reader when it comes to twisted books especially mental health related (as I’m a mental health therapist) ,however, this book did not disappoint! The main character’s mental health struggle between keeping his grasp on reality and psychosis was brilliantly written. If you love a good dark psychological thriller you got to read this book!! 💀Disliked: NA 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ... show more

  • Great story!
"One can't afford to passively allow time to fly over, but try to actively advance through it, or at least tag along. The consequences of failing to do so can be truly alienating." "Love could have been the purest of things if the lowliest of them hadn't attached itself to it." “The log, standing against the quiet, unmoving trees behind it, evoke the image of a gallows, with the sober crowd having witnessed the execution." Chris sometimes helps his old high school friend Bone do cleaning jobs, But not just any cleaning jobs, Bone is a mobster and needs help getting rid of dead bodies. When Bone steals some mannequins for shooting practice, there's one left over that Bone tells him to keep at his house so they can use it for next time! When Chris continually helps his friend on odd jobs, something inside him is growing and when he comes across a child kidnapping pimp, he doesn't think twice before he kills him. This leads to a mental decline that pulls him further down, can he get out of the figurative hole while he's burying literal holes? Oh and lets not forget is the mannequin actually alive? (THIS IS SOME STEPHEN KING STUFF RIGHT HERE!) Stefan, you were my very first book tour ever! And I thought that book was good, but this was phenomenal! The whole time I'm reading this I'm thinking HOW FREAKING PROUD I AM OF YOU! This book exceeded my expectations in so many ways, creepy mannequins stalking you? YES! Amusing scenes of nasty body removal? I'M HERE FOR IT! Psycho dude losing his mind? SIGN ME UP! Stefan has a way of building the character development in a way that you genuinely feel for the main character and want to reach in and hug him, and the decline in mental health, though hard to read at times was done brilliantly. I give Mannequin by Stefan Plesoianu ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ... show more

  • Excellent psychological thriller!
I joined the book tour for Stefan’s last book, Thorn, and was absolutely delighted to be asked to join the one for Mannequin! I’m including the book blurb below and if that alone doesn’t capture you’re attention I don’t know what will! Review: This is a great October thriller. As someone who has their own mental health issues I really felt for Chris. Even when his actions were morally questionable I couldn’t help but hope for a good resolution for him. He gets in with the wrong crowd that leads down a tougher path than he anticipates which makes for a compelling series of events. It is fascinating to see how author’s have characters handle mental illness and struggles in such varying ways, which just speaks to how different we all are as human. Stefan’s approach was perfect and the twists and turns had me hooked until the very end. Give this and his other novel a try if you’re looking for a thrilling yet different experience! Blurb: “Deeply scarred by the death of his mother, Chris is permanently on the edge of losing his frail stability.
