Thought it would look like plantation shutters since they called them shutter blinds. Looks very realistically like mini blinds from outside the home. Our garage walk through door has a large window and the home has plantation shutters. Wouldn’t be possible to install actual plantation shutters on a door that is used so decided to try faux. My home is on a raised foundation, so I don’t really need heavy drapes on the raised windows…however, I’ve recently spotted someone flying their drone around, and until I can net it and send it back to its maker, this film provides the perfect amount of privacy and perfect amount of light in! Plain sheers did nothing but provide daytime cover, but at night, with the lights on, (or during the Summer heat) it was as if I had nothing on them. I will be adding this film to all the windows on my East and West facing windows, though I’m planning on doubling it up with mirrored tint underneath, to keep the heat and crazy brightness of the Summer sun at bay. I provided several pix, with increasing close up views, to show the level of opacity, as well as the diffuses “gaps” in the slats, that make these “blinds” look more realistic. These films are extremely easy to install, and if you have a hard time installing it, it is because #1 you did not follow the instructions and remove the backer film, or #2 your windows are not properly cleaned. Seriously, a child could install these films, and the fact that they are similar to silicone window clings, makes them that much easier to handle. I HIGHLY recommend using a good spritzing of lightly soapy water on your CLEAN windows, a VERY SHARP razor blade, and a good squeegee. Follow the directions, and you shouldn’t have any problems at all. ... show more
