The Manduka GRP Adapt is the best mat I've used. I'm a yoga teacher and I practice every day, and recently set out to find my dream mat. I was using a Jade travel mat, which is quite thin. (3mm) i think. I knew I needed a thicker mat, but wasn't sure where that sweet spot on thickness was. I tried the Alo Warrior and a Manduka Pro, and none measured up to the GRP Adapt. The Alo Warrior is beautiful, and feels really nice, but the top layer material immediately started flaking off. Unacceptable. The Manduka Pro is thick (6mm) and even though this is one of the most expensive Mandukas, it is a very slippery mat, which totally blows for hot yoga. Even in dry yoga it was a bit slippery. The GRP adapt is just the right thickness, and it is super grippy. Love this mat!

I was nervous to spend so much on one mat but finally did and LOVE it! For the first time ever my mat didn't slide at all. This will always be my mat of choice. It has to be replaced once a year this is my 4th replacement with a 5-7 day per week hot yoga practice. Yes it has a new smell before you break it in and yes it will look worn over time but it’s worth it. I’ve practiced yoga for 10 years and have tried every mat around. This is my winner 🏆.

I have used a Manduka prolite for years, its a great mat and the best for most practices. However, I practice hot yoga frequently and sweat a lot which makes me slip and slide on my mat (even towels get too wet). The GRP Adapt offers Manduka quality with an extremely observant sticky mat surface. I am taking off a star because of the mat's tendency to hold on to dust and prints.
