My old yoga mat finally fell apart after almost 15 years so I got an upgrade! Learned about this brand from some fellow students at my aerial school and decided to "have my husband buy it" for my Christmas present, haha. It has a bit of a smell when you first get it, it's a bit harder to roll up than the standard thin foam mats, and it feels like it weighs a ton, but when I'm warming up it never moves and I never move on it. Firm but cushy, awesome color, and seems like it will last at least as long as my last one if not longer. Great addition to my workout gear.     • This is my second eKO mat. I now have a travel mat and one just for the house.

The only thing I wish was that it was thicker. 4mm is thinner I have learned. That said, I am keeping it. It is an excellent mat for yoga. It provides superior grip. I know my hands are not going to slip in down dog. I already own the eKOlite travel yoga mat. I love it. It stayed in my gym bag in the car so it was always handy. It is COVID now. I took it out of my car to use in the house because my house yoga mat wasn’t nearly the same quality. I purchased this one after forgetting to put my travel one in the car when I went away. There were no brick and mortar stores that had a yoga mat. I tried using a towel to do yoga while away. It didn’t work well at all. I wanted another eKOlite mat because my travel mat is 2 years old and is still in great shape and the stickiness works like the first day I used it I do clean it but not nearly as much as I should. I also chose the eKOlite because it is eco friendly, made from biodegradable non-Amazon harvested natural tree rubber. Another factor in choosing is the length. I am 5’7 and the 68 inch mats work well enough but I wanted something a little longer. The 3 inches of what this provides is exactly what I needed. I also chose this because of its superior grip. It does have a natural rubber scent when first used. I remember this with my first one. It did last a bit of time for the odor to go away. It does go away though. The 4 mm thickness is dense. It is not soft. I was concerned about this with my knees at first. I laid out Another more plush yoga mat next to this one and alternated between the two to see the difference. What I realized was my knee sank to the floor on the plush one not really providing me with much padding anyhow. The eKO mat is very stable under me.     • Comes with a strong smell, but great mat
I have used it for three hot power yoga classes and so far I really like the grip and support. However, just know it comes with a really strong chemical rubbery smell that I haven't been able to get rid of. I feel bad in class for the people around me, it's that strong! I practice yoga daily including hot yoga 3xweek. Been using this mat for 2 and a half months now and couldn't be more satisfied! It is durable, non slip and wipes clean easily with just a damp cloth. I did air it out per instructions when I first received it due to its slight rubber odor. Personally the odor was never strong enough to irritate me and now is nonexistent. I'm also surprised how comfy and "cushiony" the mat feels under my knees since it's 4mm and my old mat ( not a Manduka) was 5mm. I definitely recommend this eco friendly yoga! ... show more

It is definitely worth to invest in good yoga mat than to buy new one every couple months. I practice mostly hot and power yoga and finally I do not slip and feel confident! People wrote about a smell, mine has none...but I kept it opened for week after purchase befote using it, maybe this helped to eliminate the rubberrish odor. ... show more

I love the Manduka mats and have been very satisfied with the mats that I have purchased in the past. My Pro mat is my go to most days. This however falls very short on quality. I used this mat for less than 1 month and the rubber surface started peeling away from the mat. The surface is super grippy, and I am only seeing this on one side of the mat so I assume that it is a defective mat. Not the quality that Manduka is known for. ... show more
